RecommendsPositive OutlookI worked at NASA Glenn Research Center
Pros
Fantastic work environment, friendly employees, horizontal management, values learning and career development over completing tasks.
Cons
It was difficult to find employees who were experienced in software development, most of the skills I learned were self-taught.
Pros
I felt that as an Intern I was treated with a great amount of respect and the community actively included me. They are an open minded and intelligent community of happy and hard working people. My co-workers openly and effectively communicated with me on my projects which created a productive work environment for me.
Cons
There is no allowance for sick days for interns and all hours missed must be made up. I believe at least one sick day should be granted as I saw another intern force herself to continue working and almost collapse because of it. If someone is truly sick they need to be able to recover. I understand they worry that college interns may use this to skip a day of work but they can make a requirement for a doctors note.

Neutral OutlookI worked at NASA Glenn Research Center for less than a year
Pros
The internship program gave the interns the opportunity to tour the facilities in GRC and Plum Brook. The work environment is very friendly.
Cons
Quality of internship heavily depends on your supervisor and/or project. Also, the $15.00/hr pay felt low, especially considering how much of that will go towards housing costs if you aren't local.
