Pros
Salary is competitive and the amount of experience gained is priceless. A very diverse workplace that emphasizes inclusion and the importance of work/life balance.
Cons
Academic part-time has a minimum of 10 hours per week and a maximum of 30 hours per week

Pros
Technically, there are no pros. If you do know nothing, you have an opportunity to learn some stuff but for me it was just a waste of time.
Cons
I was the one doing the whole project on myself . My advisor did not do anything. My advisor even with 30+ year experiences was unaware of some basics about the project. If you talk about teamwork and collaboration, forget it. None for me. Also, the postdoc salary is pretty low especially for LA. If you are married and your wife does not work, forget to survive. Even there are limitations to find an apartment that your salary has to 3X of rent. I was earning 60K after tax and health insurance with minimum coverage, the net was $3700 per month. Good luck with this salary to survive in LA.
