I worked at NAWC full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

There's a gym on base You do get to see and hear various airplanes flying around It's very hard to get fired

    Cons

The work environment is run down and shoddy Lots of red tape makes it difficult to produce anything You likely won't get good programming experience, so if you don't sharpen your skills outside of work, you may be trapped there Low pay.

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at NAWC full-time for more than a year

    Pros

When you are actually doing really work and not just dealing with bloated and unnecessary policies, you are contributing to something really great. Naval Aviation keeps the US safe and being able to help Sailors do their job more easily and safely is great. Laid back environment.

    Cons

Lots of bureaucratic red tape. Lots of head-scratching policies and processes. Work is usually very very slow paced, things take a very long time to get done.

    Advice to Management

Just because there are ways things have always been done doesn't mean that they must continue that way if they are broken. With a tighter defense budgets, all engineering commands must start doing things in a more agile manner.
