I have been working at NBC full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I get to work with people who inspire me. And every day/week is a little different. This job is definitely not monotonous.

    Cons

The schedule is often erratic and you have to be able to adapt at a drop of a dime if breaking news happens. Also, it can be stressful and high-pressure at times.

    Advice to Management

I'm pretty happy at the moment and I don't have any advice for management at this time.

I worked at NBC as a contractor

    Pros

This was overall a great company to work for. Great work and life balance, they truly care for their employees and provide you with great training.

    Cons

Contract ended and they didn't renew. I really was looking forward to moving into a permanent position but unfortunately the project did not go as planned and you can only be under a contract for a year.

    Advice to Management

The terms for contractors should have been explained in greater details at the beginning of the term rather than at the end. I wasn't made aware that you can only be a contractor for a year.
