    Pros

Depends on where in the massive conglomerate that is NBC's. My office had a fabulous talented, funny and hardworking people. Great networking lots of little fun perks.

    Cons

Keeping your position alive is always on your mind. TV is a fickle industry and it's amplified at this network is my general feeling.

    Advice to Management

    Promote within.

I have been working at NBCUniversal full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great corporate events IF you work at the Miracle Mile location(don't work at the Lot aka Universal City location). Relaxed attire. Constant free swag, surprise food/drink parties, events, and screenings. Great farmers market at the courtyard every Wednesday all year long. Courtyard being renovated to be more user-friendly to employees. Decent luncheons options within walking distance. Half-day Fridays during the summer season.

    Cons

G4 department was completely laid-off in a move to expand and rebrand to Esquire. Then Style department was completely laid-off in a move to expand and rebrand to instead become Esquire. Now G4 is back the way it was, sans all the employees. It's difficult to move up internally. Parking structure is difficult to get in and out unscathed. I.T. department is not that great, but better than NBCU's corporate I.T. from India! Since the merger from E!/GE/Comcast to NBCU, NBCU has inundated how they do things into our already regular-flowing-happy ways, makes things more difficult and not as appealing. Due to this merger and how corporate things are getting, long-time employees and those there pre-merger are extremely dissatisfied with their jobs.

    Advice to Management

Stop being so corporate NBCU. Allow INTERNAL employees a true chance versus having your own agenda in clearly wanting to hire externally. Sometimes things work without having to over-complicate things. We are still E!/G4/Esquire/Wilshire with or without you. All of these structural changes impact heavily on positive and orderly productivity, just feels like an unsafe place to work at now in the political sense. You just never know when your number is up.

I have been working at NBCUniversal full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Friendly environment, well fed during Upfront season!

    Cons

Little to no room for growth, constant layoffs, senior management does nothing to increase employee morale, lack of effort towards employee retention

    Advice to Management

Take a look at companies like Google who fight tooth and nail to retain their employees. NBCUniversal has a extremely high turnover for a reason and senior management isn't taking time nor do they to rectify this matter.

I have been working at NBCUniversal full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You are working at a company that has grown tremendously and acquired so many networks so that the connections you make will offer you so many opportunities in the entertainment industry. It is like a big family here, even though there are so many employees, every single one is valued. Even the smallest employee contributes to the bigger picture and is a vital asset to the team.

    Cons

NBCUniversal is becoming a bit more corporate as their primary agenda is to see the ratings improve and the box office generate revenue. Some of the more "quality" entertainment is being put on the back burner so that more attention can be devoted towards shows and films that appeal to the masses. The business aspect often seems to overshadow the creative.
