I have been working at NBCUniversal as an intern (More than a year)

    Pros

Everything. Great teams, flexible hours, awesome work environment. I've spent 2 semesters as an intern and I am the only intern so I am not competing with anyone specifically and the team gives all of the attention to me. Great connections and you get to work with people at very high levels at the company. Barely even an internship because they treat you just like a full-time employee and make sure you are learning what you need to learn.

    Cons

The ONLY downside is that I haven't been given any free NBC apparel from the internship program! (But my boss has given me stuff)

    Negative Outlook

I worked at NBCUniversal full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

You can get benefits after a certain period. Some positions offer overtime. People that are mean don't last long and everyone is general pleasant to work with.

    Cons

Rates are low. Some people get taken advantage of and work insane hours. They rarely promote. It's nearly impossible to advance your career at this company.

    Advice to Management

Appreciate employees and explore employees talents that are definitely being under utilized.

I worked at NBCUniversal full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Terrific benefits! Great medical, dental, and fringe benefits.

    Cons

My team was a little cliquey and it was very hard to get on the inside with the VP. You very much felt like an outsider if you were not in her inner circle.

I worked at NBCUniversal full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Always lots of challenges and work. If you're willing to take things on you'll never be twiddling your thumbs. If you want to advance into management there will be opportunities.

    Cons

Despite having been part of Comcast for almost a decade, they still have the GE mentality that individual contributors (and in fact pretty much everybody up to VPs) are easily replace, interchangeable commodities.

    Advice to Management

Get out of the old GE mentality, look to retain productive ICs, don't just look for potential management talent.
