I worked at NBCUniversal as an intern

    Pros

Amazing company environment. Everyone in the company makes a big effort to get to know the interns, and the program itself is designed so you can meet as many employees as you want to during your time.
They make it very clear they look to hire their interns, and a majority of the current employees were interns at one point!

    Cons

Very low pay, but looks so good on a resume you'd like to think it'll pay off eventually.

I worked at NBCUniversal full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Iconic brand filled with tons of history in television and motion pictures. Truly a unique portfolio of businesses and content.

    Cons

Internal cut-throat politics ran rampant in 30 Rock and Los Angeles. Comcast changed the culture of the company. It sucked the life out of this amazing brand and challenged innovation to protect their cable business.

    Pros

Great place to learn new skills and build connection

    Cons

Hard to be promoted to staff

    Advice to Management

Promote current workers to staff instead of bringing in new people and having to teach them what current workers already know

I worked at NBCUniversal full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

STAY AWAY FROM NBC UNIVERSAL TELEMUNDO. Not a place to have a long term career. My supervisor lied to me and human resources is inept. The culture is horrible for mid level executives and there are few minorities working at the their spanish TV section - Telemundo.

    Cons

Supervisor was unprofessional in every way. From sexual harassment to lying. Not sure how was promoted to a Vice President role. The rest of the culture was like an old boys club.

    Advice to Management

Invest in talent. Telemundo under major pressure to beat Univision so management will do anything to save their own jobs. STAY AWAY.

I have been working at NBCUniversal full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

NBCUniversal is one of the most diverse, creative and innovative companies that I have ever worked for. The continuous ideas, strong energy and teamwork is probably the main reason as to why NBCU is well ahead of its competitors. This is a company that allows for so much growth and opportunity because it is a company that truly cares and believes in their people.

    Cons

For me, it is not as easy to maintain a work/life balance the way I thought it would.
