I worked at NBCUniversal full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Great benefits and the pay is okay...no bonuses.

    Cons

When there is an IT issue, either you have to figure it out for yourself or it can take days to have the issue solved if you’re lucky. There is no transparency and lack of work life balance. There is also no structured processes, which I was shocked being that nbc is such a big media company. Also, no room for advancement unless you really know someone.

    Advice to Management

Provide more structure and transparency during interviews and when hired.

I worked at NBCUniversal full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great benefits Free passes to the park Lots of snacks

    Cons

No work life balance. If you are looking to get into the home entertainment group at Nbc universal but want a work life balance, you might not get it. You work more than 8 hours on a standard day. The entire building is crazy quiet, not what you’d expect from an entertainment company. They will tell you you’ll get that balance at interview, but you won’t. Culture is not great because everyone is concerned with... title. If you are someone looking for a lively energetic workplace, this will not be the place you want to be. Entertainment company with old company culture.

    Advice to Management

Be careful with the things you say such as making disparaging remarks about other people & co workers because that causes your direct reports to not respect you. Great level of professionalism is important which many of you lack.

    I worked at NBCUniversal

    Pros

It’s easy to believe in your managers and the company in general because they put their money where their mouth is- they’re actively working on cutting edge technology and trying to stay ahead of the curve in this rapidly changing industry.

    Cons

It is difficult to have a work/life balance, especially if you don’t have any children.

    Advice to Management

It’s important to provide feedback, both positive and negative, to employees who are always striving to do better tomorrow than they did today!
