I worked at NCC Media (More than a year)

    Pros

Great learning experience, sales manager one of the best I have worked with. An excellent first job for someone in media as you get to work with everyone - buyers, planners, sales reps and managers at cable systems. After leaving used things i learned at Dallas office in my current job.

    Cons

Software could have been purchased from outside companies (as the owners Comcast, Cox and Spectrum already do) instead of trying to make their own - make-good software inferior to broadcast, at my time of employment overtime was rarely allowed while the workload was more than anyone could handle in 8 hours. Not sure how to go from SC to AE or another position without leaving company.

    Advice to Management

Give options to move forward in company, there are not enough AE positions for every coordinator to move into that role. Have managers spend some time in the jobs below them, like sales coordinator as that is the best way to understand what an SC goes through. There are people in DFW who are either qualified or trainable that could make a diverse group of employees.

    Pros

Sales Coordinators help each other a lot, great people to work with. Sales Managers are easy to go to. Office is at the Galleria mall so great options for taking breaks. Ping Pong tournaments get intense. If you're interested in becoming an AE, you get taken on sales calls. Industry parties are fun.

    Cons

High volume workload. Some of the clients and affiliates can be difficult - standard for this industry. Internal software can be frustrating. There are opportunities for promotion, but lots of people go for the position.

    Advice to Management

    Hire more sales coordinators.

    Pros

Insurance. Pay. There are no other Pros.

    Cons

Managers are oblivious to what is going on in the office and they don't care to hear it, they just want to work done. Certain people get certain privileges while others do not, very unfair work environment.

    Advice to Management

Know what is going on in your office. Don't allow bullying and listen to what your employees tell you. There is a reason for the high turnover.
