    I worked at NCH full-time

    Pros

There are some good people across the company. This will vary depending on where you are in the company, but there's often enough down time to allow you to expand your skillset to creatively solve problems. The company is small enough that it can feel like you know everyone that works there.

    Cons

The lack of spending will often force you to creatively solve problems more than you'll want. There are some really bad middle managers that don't manage up, and pass through all upstream concerns to their team. While this can be an informative window into the larger concerns of the organization, the manager hasn't translated those concerns into concrete actions you can take to address them from your position. And... you may not even be in a position to address them. So this can result in undue stress.

I worked at NCH full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - Very few if any. Some good people work there.

    Cons

    - Horrible management. They just complain about how their people don't work hard enough although everyone is answering emails at all hours of the night. - Systems are incredibly dated. CIO made the comment that they hadn't put a lot of money into the systems for over 10 years. How does a company function like that?!? - Pay is consistently 15%-20% below market value. - 2 weeks of vacation for the first 5 years... is absurd in todays market and competitive job pool. - No maternity leave or no paternity leave. You have to go on FMLA for maternity leave. Really no paid leave at all. - Workforce is aging rapidly. Too many times I was told "well this is how we've always done it". New thoughts and processes are encouraged. - Everything is very sneaky and you always have to watch your back. - You are lied to constantly by Sr Leadership who keep just saying "everything is ok" when the staff knows its not. - Offices are old and dated. They do not encourage team events or have any culture at all. Everyone is constantly unhappy and complains. Turnover is extremely high.

    Advice to Management

Invest in your people. Try to make it a fun place to work. Focus on the younger generation. Stop being "YES" men to your CEO and the Family. Treat your employee with respect.

Good people. Treat you like family.

An account list would be helpful.

I have been working at NCH

    Pros

good people; some departments really want to invest in their employees

    Cons

Very hierarchical and political environment; very low pay in comparison to other organizations; not a forward thinking organization

    Advice to Management

Pay your employees more, everyone there talks about leaving as soon as they get a better offer elsewhere. You are losing talent.

    Approves of CEO

I have been working at NCH full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

All about top line growth. Good people at lower ranks. Sr. leadership is disconnected. Say they want change, but don't want to rock boat...

    Cons

    Very political, hostile, dysfunctional environment.

    Advice to Management

Keep your good people, don't believe everything you hear from executives.... The culture is crumbling around you....

I worked at NCH full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

None. Was a great company, but mismanaged. Great people, but getting more and more frustrated. Good people are leaving the ship.

    Cons

Politics, buroucratisam, dictatorship. One way communication, the mamagement does not listen, only tell. Innovation: the name of the game, but no innovation at all
