1. Driven coworkers who care about the mission
2. High standards of work
3. Flexible scheduling options and telework
4. Metro accessible
5. Great benefits at one point
Overall, I felt like I got the bait and switch. My Interview process and HR orientation was great and made me really excited about working here... And then as soon as I started working, everything has gone down hill and quickly ever since.
1. Many people are treated unfairly
2. Horrible management experience. I consider myself to be a very well-adjusted person and I was brought to tears by some of the communication I received from my manager.
3. No work life balance; my team on average works 50-60 hours a week with no recognition as it was considered the norm
4. Leadership team is condescending and out of touch
5. So many promises made but nothing ever changes
6. Work "fun" events are only tailored to certain people and feel really forced.

I worked at NCQA full-time (More than 8 years)
People are fantastic and talented. The recruiting at ncqa is out of this world. They truly hire the best of the best. Benefits compensation are good
The executive team is out of touch and has been for many years. They are biased, crass, ungrateful for all the work performed by employees. Speaking of work, they actually work people to death and sadly mostly with minutia and detail work. They do not cultivate people's strengths and encourage their people to use their skills and lead the way. This applies to everyone below the executives. It doesn't matter what title you have, you are relegated to working on minute details repeatedly. They do not show gratitude for the hard work. They also make terrible decisions letting superior talent leave the company over the past two years due to their atrocious management. They have literally driven people off the edge and kill the passion in people. Many people besides the ones who have already left are looking for another job
Advice to Management
Straighten up. Learn to say thank you continuously. The president and other executives should stop making snarky degrading comments to people about their work. Your treatment of people has horrible effects on their work life and also their home life. People are leaving for a reason and it's their perception of the company and what was the promise of great things, crumbling under a self serving leadership team that thinks themselves to be greater than others. We were all created equal in this world and you have got great talent. Do unto others as you would have them do to you. Open your eyes to the effect that your constant criticism has had on people. And lastly get yourself some diversity in your executive team. It's the year 2016. Do you have no shame? Your biases and favoritism are quite public and palpable.
