    I worked at NCR full-time

    Pros

Really the people were nice and it was a friendly environment I liked playing ping-pong on my lunch break

    Cons

I was in the plastic recovery department and that was really just miserable not because the company was bad to you or anything but it was just such a damn boring task

    Advice to Management

    Pay a little better

I worked at NCR full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great dedicated, hard-working, smart teams. Awesome local management that supports and challenges their team. Able to work from home.

    Cons

Upper management only cares about the numbers and not the quality of work to their clients.

    Advice to Management

Value your team and their skills more. Quality over quantity. Lost a lot of talented engineers due to relocation.

I worked at NCR full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Dedicated teams that work effectively together

    Cons

Poor benefits. Vacation does not carry over year to year. Poor to average medical insurance.
Company is very stingy when it comes to supporting internal support systems. Teams are expected to do their own network administration work and other infrastructure work in addition to their basic project work.
NCR is at its heart a hardware sales company, so everything else turns into a cost center. Everything from equipment to travel to employee motivation is essentially unfunded.
While a stagnant share price isn't a reason in and of itself to avoid a company, the reasons for the stagnant share price are something to consider when looking evaluating an employer. This is a company that can't really decide what its overall mission and focus should be, so employees' opportunities for growth are limited.

    Advice to Management

Join the 21st century when it comes to employee benefits. Staff up teams so that they can do great things. Provide internal support for teams so they can focus on their primary tasks without having to devote countless hours to system administration and infrastructure.

I have been working at NCR full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Easy to work from home
    The people are knowledgeable

    Cons

No bonus, 0 base budget meaning they don't expense or do anything for the employees, they lay off people yearly and very cut throat. The software is stupid difficult. There is always a hot topic with a customer and that's the only way things get done.

    Advice to Management

It's a lot of work for one person, too many chiefs not enough indians, very difficult software to learn and crazy expectations.

I have been working at NCR full-time

    Pros

It was a new experience a totally new field that has its challenges and also tons of new processes and procedures that I need to learn and adapt to use.

    Cons

There is a lot of resistance to change, most of people is reluctant to change procedures eventhough some are old and outdated and more over wrong.

    Advice to Management

They should work on teaching old employees how to embrace change and adapt to it.
