I worked at NCS full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

If you are not caring about your future then it's okay to refuse any workload and kick back. If you don't want just sit there and do nothing then you can ask to do more. It's quite flexible. Many people choose this company to retire.

    Cons

If you are in some project with an urgent deadline, then a lot of OT should be anticipated. Most of the times the messes in projects come from lack of management or bad management, also from engineers lack of responsible .

    Advice to Management

    Please do your work

I have been working at NCS full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    1) Competitive pay for fresh grads, even those from universities not well recognised
    2) Structured training programme for entry-level fresh hires
    3) Friendly staff

    Cons

    1) Lack of salary progression despite company growth
    2) Tedious, over-structured and ineffective performance review process
    3) Poor utilisation of manpower; some are very busy and overburdened, others can go for coffee breaks all day
    4) Complete lack of transparency in renumeration policies

    Advice to Management

    1) Pay mid-level employees more competitively; people promoted internally should be paid just as well as those promoted externally (studies shown internally promoted personnel are better performers anyway).
    2) Make renumeration policies more visible to employees so that they can understand what the company values. Existing employees should be paid just as competitively as fresh hires to prove that the company is worth staying in.

I have been working at NCS full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Close working colleagues and supervisor

    Cons

Low pay, new policies which greatly burdens the already daily heavy workload, no support given from management when needed at off-site

    Advice to Management

Pay increment to the basic pay and restore the 13 month pay. Do not cheat on staff by making empty promises, like high bonuses when the higher management gets the high while the ground staff gets the scrimp-bites.

I worked at NCS full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Given training opportunities though budget is limited. Relatively good medical and welfare benefits. Availability of degree course sponsorship but with conditions.

    Cons

Once, seconded to govt agency, highly likely you can't go back to hub. Appraisal is not done fairly. In house system is also not friendly for accessibility to staff at customer site.

    Advice to Management

Appraisal system needs to be open and fair. Qualifications should not be the determining factor for a candidate with 8 years of working experience to join as the same grade as your fresh graduates.
