I worked at NCS full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Some of the colleagues are very nice. The roti prata at the canteen is awesome. Also, there are plenty of people who somehow manage to find time to sleep at A2 and the rec room, so if you want to kun, you can go there.

    Cons

Lots of politicking so work performance doesn't matter. Some departments do not set out KPIs at all for the year, so your performance appraisal totally depends on how much your boss likes you. So in spite of working hard for the company, at the end of the day, it's obvious the 'high performers' are the ones who go out with the boss for breakfast, lunch, coffee, smoke break, dinner!

Also, the English and grammar used in this company is atrocious. When you pick up any brochure at the lobby to read, you have no idea what they're trying to say because it's all a bunch of IT jargon put together and you still don't know what the product is. It's pretty embarrassing especially when you have potential foreign clients.

Please do yourself a favour and try out at an MNC if you want to go into IT. At least they have KPIs and legitimate appraisals.

    Advice to Management

Seriously look into your performance appraisal system. It's really a joke. Also, don't you know that employees who transfer to another department are always given a very bad performance review by their previous department?

I have been working at NCS full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Flexible working hours
    Comprehensive medical insurance
    Regular health screening

    Cons

Too result-driven, they don't care about their staffs
No budget from management - imagine project estimation required 60 people, but they only hired 10 people
Because of tight budget so do not expect any backup when you are taking leave.

    Advice to Management

Good luck trying to save budget

I worked at NCS full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Flexibility
u can remain uncontactable, and push away meetings as long as your boss is aware that you have urgent stuffs to settle for the day (most of the staffs are expected to work more than required hours and the bosses understand)

    Great bonding between peers
ncs organizes events for employees to bond

Protected canteen space solely for its staffs
outsiders are restricted to enter the premise unless escorted by ncs staff

    Cons

Hardly have time for breakfast, lunch, dinner and family time
Bosses will ask you to postpone your eating hours due to workload so you need to eat at irregular hours

    Too hierarchical
Excessively high number of approvals required for simple purposes

    Fickle minded top management
Be prepared to b blamed for management's fickle mindedness and multiple rework. No clear direction, full of changes and staffs are expected to b on their toes, react fast for their unexpected changes and be recalled back to work for that purpose

Easily made redundant, not advisable for those with families-
May hire for a project purpose and fire because they realize they hire too much headcount but soon might re-hire back (cycle continues)

    Not for weak heart
Lots of screaming happening at meetings

    Advice to Management

To Middle managers: Stick to your decision made and be firm about it. Don't push the blame downwards and try to look good yourself in front of your bosses. It makes life very tough for people reporting under u

To upper management : Stop loading more approval levels, processes, extra steps for tender etc. The supporting team has to deal with this workload as well and it demoralizes everyone

To HR : be more protective on staff rights instead of listening only to the top

I worked at NCS full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

None because I came with the work experience. The salary and benefits ( leave days entitlement with half forfeited, medical insurance coverage . . . . ) is the worst among MNCs. So, there is really nothing at all to motivate. The career path with all the required competencies is a joke.

    Cons

    1) SAP database is a mess with so many problems ridiculous problems that is totally unacceptable yet the Director is not bothered 2) An weird unfortunate culture that does NOT allow you to feedback anything without your Director's approval although your Director is hopeless. Try and you will be badly punished. 3) Director who loves to blame her subordinates daily for several weeks for her own mistakes. After asking and checking, it was HER OWN mistake. 4) Pathetic Director who is hated within and outside the Department although she looks pleasant.

    Advice to Management

Many people is aware that NCS has such a bad reputation from friends, neighbours and recruitment agencies since 2014. I really regretted not listening to them. But Talent Acquisition Team should not recruit base on Cheap / Immediately Available left overs in the job market. Wake- UP! We are glad that she resigned in December 2016.

    Cons

NCS do not value contract staff. i have one year totally no increment
even i am one of top performer. The rest of my 3 years only $50 increment. furthermore, there is a no room for career advancement. Only performance bonus, no AWS,

I have been working at NCS full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good if you are in Managerial positions

    Cons

There is a story that I heard as a kid.It goes like this-
"In a Jungle, there was a Lion. The Lion's subordinates mostly wild dogs used to hunt food for the Lion and its family. Every evening they would serve the hunt to the Lion.In return, the Lion would just leave the leftover bones for its subordinates."

Don't worry I'll not write the full story. This story metaphorically relates to NCS. Here you can guess who is Management and who is the Employee. Your guess is as good as mine.
Management here doesn't care about talent, skills, or contributions. Your bonus depends on lots of factors that is beyond any logic. The company is for honchos; they get high packages and bonuses at the expense of the employee who are the actual workhorses.

    Advice to Management

    Develop an eye for talent
