I worked at NCS full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

If you know to lick the boot of management then you will enjoy your stay.

    Cons

    1. I have worked for other MNCs but never found a company of 5k+ employee with virtually no processes, no coding standards (there are few exceptions to this).

    2. Most of the managers are worthless. Their appraisal of employee is greatly influenced by their interaction (read lunch, coffess, buttering) etc with the employee rather than the work the employee does.

    3. Good bonuses are only for Managers. Appraisal is a joke.

    4. Company with this size has virtually no training system. Their are few trainings but that too just to promote their outdated platform or for the technologies that are outdated.

    5. Most of the Programmers working with here for more than 3-4 years hardly are aware of the latest techonologies.

    6. Awards are joke.

I worked at NCS full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good place to start with, as it provides good learning opportunity. Staff is allowed to go for sponsored external training.

    Cons

Being attached permanently to client's site does not make the staff feel very attached to NCS itself. Staff is least awared of what's happening back in NCS

    Advice to Management

For those staffs who are stationed at client's site, they should be more awared what 's happening back at ncs too.

I worked at NCS as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Pay is little higher for the contract employees

    Cons

You are not an employee of NCS (Contract ) .
Which means , you get no other allowances or perks .
Contracts employees are treated as just like machines like some managers .. They just asks you to come on saturday and sunday for work (Even though there is no much work )
Dont join in the company whatsapp group where your managers are also there.. Its a trap . the group is only used by the project directors /manager to discuss about the work .. mostly in the weekend ..

And if you are coming through a consultancy (as a contract employees) read your offer letter thoroughly ...The consultancies say nothing can be done on the leave (General and medical ) as its described by the NCS .. This is FAKE .. You can negotiate for more leaves..
Don't come as a contract employee with 5 medical leaves ..(This is very important )
Minimum 12 medical leaves are needed .. you are coming here for a white collar job .. as a skilled employee ..
Second thing is the clause if you break the contract before its tenure..
Many consultancies have various practices in this .. its not standard .. some ask for 2 months pay when you resign earlier...
Be very serious about this .. You may need to pay back to the consultancy if the penalty is for 2 months ..

Negotiate maximum for a non pay early closure.. or ask for a clause like they can take 1 month salary if you resign before 3 months ( 3 months is enough for them to make a profit from you , considering if they even paid for their flight charge as well apart from the visa charges) ..

    Advice to Management

Good employees wont stay with crappy consultancies . .To run project smoothly please make sure that the contract employees are treated nicely by their contractors ..else people will leave half the way ....Make sure that the consultancies are paying them on time and are given enough general and medical leaves

I have been working at NCS full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good company benefits with job security. Management is lenient and bosses are nice and supportive.

    Cons

As a responsible employee, you will be overloaded with incomplete work by idle colleagues. Work life balance is only applicable to idle employees that comes in late for work, go for long lunch, long coffee breaks, long smoking breaks and knock off early.

    Advice to Management

Idle employees and keyboard warriors should be removed to increase productivity.

I worked at NCS as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Depends on the project, the colleagues can be quite knowledgeable and can achieve work life balance.
    So check the project beforehand.
Job security as ncs involves in most government projects.

    Cons

Lousy HR. You are nobody once contract is signed.
No transparency on conversion to perm.
Increment can be below market rate so try to get high salary at the start.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the ground level staff.
