I worked at NDT Global full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The people at NDT Global are amazing to work with. NDT is an industry leader in ILI, which makes NDT a great, cutting edge place to work. In the 2 years I worked for NDT I saw major improvements in morale and workplace practices. Continue on those paths or NDT will revert to what it was a couple of years ago...

    Cons

Slow approval processes. No regular cost of living adjustments for employees.

    Advice to Management

Improve approval processes and do more to take care of your employees. Do more to live by your core values. They are great values and NDT could be a much better place if upper management actually lived by the values.

I worked at NDT Global full-time

    Pros

    Pay is always on time.

    Cons

Favoritism is big here at the company, training is improving but still is being provided by new techs. Shop supervisor needs people skills, does not know how to speak to people employee wise. Employees are being under utilized shop techs should be in the field they have more knowledge about the tools then the field techs. Everything Is depending on Germany and one person to approve everything done here and that... takes hours of waiting to get approval. Then one is forced to be finished by a critical deadline.

I worked at NDT Global full-time

    Pros

When the shop supervisor misses work- advise, passed this job up people.

    Cons

Its a tense environment and HR and the Operations Manager act like they have no clue as to what is taking place on the shop floor. No training, no quality program and employee turnover rate is high.

    Advice to Management

Get your head out of your butt and make NDT a better place to work. People can only work so long as individuals

I have been working at NDT Global full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Industry leader Advanced Technology Flexible schedule Room to shine, even if you are a mediocre employee

    Cons

Attrition, constant turnover and management changes. Lack of direction- No real growth plan communicated Because of the attrition, bottom-floaters are kept around even though they do not meet expectations, which forces a few of the employees who care to pick up the slack There is a core group of employees who carry the company 3 local CEO’s in 3 years, each with different management styles which causes confusion.... Pay is below industry average. Micro-management from the global management team, EVERYTHING has to be approved by the owner.

    Advice to Management

Pick a management style and stay consistent. Recognize those team members who carry the load and get rid of the bottom floaters. Live the “core values” you preach, ‘trust and enable’ your people to make the right decision without your approval Put the right people in the right role, you have people in key positions (Key Account Teams - KAMs and PMs) who have no business being in those roles. You also have the... wrong people in leadership roles (operations manager) who bring absolutely no value to the business. Fix the attrition rate by getting the right people in the right role, from the start. Don’t just put a warm body in the spot just to fill it.

I worked at NDT Global full-time for more than a year

    Pros

A very good sense of camaraderie at the lowest level. The people who make things happen are wonderful.

    Cons

Above the lowest level of work, the decision makers (leadership, upper management) are completely disconnected and selfish. They care more about reputation and pinching pennies than about employee welfare or morale. Continually make decisions that cause massive employee departure from all departments. Consistently undervalue the most important people in the whole process.

    Advice to Management

Quit and get a job that you'd be better at, like auditing tax evaders. The company is only surviving because your people work hard; you have no idea what you're doing.

    I worked at NDT Global

    Pros

Few and far between. Many benefits were offered, but later revoked. There are few pros to offer in regards to this company. And the testament is in comparison to close competitors.

    Cons

Turnover is constant. Attrition is unbelievable. One day you think you're making progress; the next day, laid off. Corporate office is in Germany, and the Deutch staff dislike Americans. HR is beyond unprofessional. Day-to-day, employees fear losing their jobs.

    Advice to Management

Hire better qualified and more professional HR staff - Houston's HR is nearly the worst in the industry. Gossip, sharing confidential information, and constant flirting with employees; sharing unprofessional stories and jokes. Provide sufficient training, as well as feedback from management on how to improve before laying off qualified employees. The team structure of paring salesmen with project managers is absurd.... Some project managers were overwhelmed with work, whilst others were bored, as their salesmen were not providing any value added to the company. In turn, project managers left because they were uncertain about their future. Inspectors are also not evenly distributed. As they were paired to a project team, some were left with massive amounts of work; others had little work. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

    Pros

No pros that I'm aware of.

    Cons

    - CEO is a puppet - Complaints will get you terminated - You will constantly worry about losing your job - HR department gossips with employees - HR and Management will treat you terribly when they know you're getting let go to force you to quit.

    Advice to Management

Keep personal comments to yourself and hire a better HR department.
