    Pros

    Decent benefits, pay was OK.

    Cons

Too top-heavy. More managers than grunts.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees as you said you would. Same song and dance every 6 months, or so!!

I worked at NEC Corporation of America (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Was empowered to run the business.

    Cons

Needed better sales team, would work well to actively recruit all year round. Wasn't too sure of the direction of the sales teams.

    Advice to Management

Good work environment, great opportunities. Hard to keep up a good pace in the event we didn't make numbers, we were instructed to layoff team members. Clients didn't like that as they were the face of NEC.

    Pros

NEC has had some really great people working there.

    Cons

Too many changes, especially in upper management. As soon as you would get comfortable with one leader, he would be let go and a replacement would come in, which means then adjusting to the new leader's style, go to market strategy, comp plan, etc.

    Advice to Management

Choose a direction and go with it. Stop the revolving door in sales management.

I worked at NEC Corporation of America full-time

    Pros

most of the employees that are left have 10 + years tenure so they are very knowledgeable and willing to help. I was a junior member of our department with only 9 years

    Cons

NEC hires new mgmt. about every 2 years and has changed major software programs every year. They have a layoff every year in April so it is hard for a newer person to learn the job because it changes so often.

    Advice to Management

stick with what you have and allow it to improve

    Pros

In my opinion only, the company is global in nature, very stable from a 150+ year old company, many technology under it's umbrella. Company benefits competitive. Strong presence as a global company and many want to partner with the company.

    Cons

In my opinion only, direction is lacking, too many products that are not streamlined to generate a clear picture in the market. With all the technology it has, the ability to leverage is weak.

    Advice to Management

Build a strategic direction, work to get ideas from employees, have management work to deliver the same message both internally and externally. Implement the message to come to fruition.
