    Positive Outlook

I worked at NEC (Japan) full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The company is quite flexible in terms of work Happened to have best colleagues during my working period

    Cons

Salary is dead low. Never fall prey to the lure created by the HR stating 5 months of annual bonus. I was lured into the job by the HR, stating the bonus will be at least 2.5 months. In reality they will never give more than a month.

    Advice to Management

Annual Appraisal is a myth. Employees need to be paid for their performance. On paper a rating of 3.5/5 is treated as 120% of performance. But it doesn't translate to money Management gives silly reasons such as Country is not doing good, when in fact in one of the business meetings the CEO himself stated that the operating profit rose 500% over the previous quarter.

    Neutral Outlook

I worked at NEC (Japan) full-time for more than a year

    Pros

People are usually nice to work with although they end up back biting due to the kind of environment created.

    Cons

    - Worthless Service Delivery Managers. They don't do their jobs, they can't help their support staff, don't want to be disturbed when staff is stuck due their incompetency. -Non existent growth opportunities. Once you are hired in a role, you will be stuck there till you can actually butter up to one of the internal hiring managers and hope politics take a back seat. Skills do not matter, politics does. -Top heavy... leadership. Way too many managers/Team leaders. -One of their department CSMC treat it's employee like School kids with so many restrictions as if they are sitting in a classroom and not a MNC.

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at NEC (Japan) full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

None any more. There use to be many but the management and negative culture has taken all them away

    Cons

Incompetent Service delivery managers (SDM) discrimination and favouritism is at its best bullying double standard of policies arrogant and rude behaviour unhealthy work environment

    Advice to Management

All management should be replaced but this will not happen due to the well established boys club.
