    Positive Outlook

I worked at NEC (Japan) full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Plenty of projects opportunities for staff. Most of the projects are for government entities both in Singapore and overseas. So it is relatively stable to work there.

    Cons

Staff need to be self-trained. As the projects usually comes with a tight timeline. the staff needs to have a know-how skill to solve the problem on his/her own.

    I worked at NEC (Japan)

    Pros

NSP trains newly-hired recruits, which includes Japanese language training. There are also chances for business trips and trainings to Japan. Projects are challenging, where developers can enhance their skills.

    Cons

NSP projects can become stressful, especially if schedules provided by clients are not negotiable. Modification requests during development period is also common. Poorly planned projects often result to a lot of overtime.

    Advice to Management

More attention should be given to balance the work and "life" of developers. Career paths should also be considered, especially for those who are not too keen to take on management roles.

    I worked at NEC (Japan)

    Pros

Good place to gain experience, depending on the project and managers could be an excellent place. Your mileage may vary. An excellent job was done reinvesting in employees by providing the resources to learn/do on your own.

    Cons

Some managers are just middle management clock punchers, but they tend to be the exception from my tenure.

    Advice to Management

Continue treating employees as your most valuable resource like they are.
