Close staff members - nice environment to work in
Cons
Pay for temporary staff and have to work long hours during Christmas and Easter and leading up to summer sale
- Former Employee★★★★★
Pros
Staff have great rapour and excellent working relationships that mean the poor working environment and terribly selfish management are bareable. Good recent strides in technology used within certain graded branches. Rapour on each individual department from sales assistant to floor manager excellent. Above that, non-existent
Cons
Senior management is non-existent and their workload is minimal for maximum rewards. Blame game played against floor managers, as senior management cant take responsiblity or refuse too. Workload balance is unreasonable and also non negiotable. Pay is exceptionally poor compared to market rivals and the way staff are managed as a number rather than a partner is also evident. This is clear in fortnighyly bonus figures which show popr customer service refleced from the hierarchy downwards.

Pros
25% discount and 75% uniform allowance (have to pay the other 25%) can offer and take shift on the NEP
Cons
sale prep and sale hours can be very unsociable and stressful with no extra pay. Expected to work all of Christmas Eve, Boxing Day, NYE & NYD so don't really get to enjoy the festive time of year. Not really praised for the effort all the employees put into making sale run smoothly. Communication skills with managers isn't always good, given too many jobs to concentrate on customers
- Current Employee, more than 5 years★★★★★
Pros
Nice people. Good seasonal transfers
Cons
Low pay for the expectations (including working on Boxing day and other Sales without a choice)
- Former Employee, more than 5 years★★★★★
Pros
Extra hours were always available
Cons
Not good to staff and working a lot to try and get a decent monthly pay

Hey, thanks for the review. Great to see you have taken advantage of our Online Shift Portal. This welcomes our people in in-store more opportunities to gain additional hours, swap shifts, and work flexibly. This is one of the many benefits our teams have enjoyed this coming year. Regarding pay, as a business, we follow the Government recommend statutory guidelines. We'd recommend any queries that can be made with HR or your line manager.
