I have been working at NFI Industries full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Great place to work for corporate office. Pay is good benefits are not great. Training is thorough and you are eligible for possible yearly performance based bonuses.

    Cons

Working in operations is terrible if you don't have any support. Trying to hire drivers is a huge task. Depending on who your client is, you could be dealing with a massive headache.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of your Directors and VPs that are dead weight. Your operations will only suffer with the lack of caring or support for those on the ground.

I worked at NFI Industries full-time for less than a year

    Pros

A pay check and health insurance

    Cons

Autocratic, inexperienced, narcissictic management. Do it their way or the highway (and not in a truck) even though it is the WRONG way. Screaming, harassing, belittling and insensitive to employees and colleagues alike. I cannot believe a company knowingly lets this go on. I have had a very successful career in the Transportation industry with a positive proven track record. I have NEVER seen the likes... of this company.

    Advice to Management

Get to the bottom of these management tactics. Listen, investigate and learn what actually goes on. Treat employees as human beings and support instilling a positive work culture from the TOP down

I worked at NFI Industries for more than 3 years

    Pros

great company to work for. Awesome owner growing company and should continue to grow. Loved working there. Employees at my level seemed friendly and knowledgeable. Plenty of opportunities to grow with the company great pay good bonuses.

    Cons

SOME Upper management plays favoritism and if you don't play nice they will fire you. No decent insurance for the drivers. Opportunities seem to be handed off to others frequently but not offered to yourself. Can be overlooked if they want to tie you down to one position only. Also the company make the managers compete against each other instead of creating a help all relationship

    Advice to Management

If you fire someone for a supposed policy violation then you should make sure the violation does not continue after the termination of one employee. Makes NFI look like crappy company with no guidelines.

I have been working at NFI Industries full-time

    Pros

Stable company, not going to close down anytime soon Decent 401k with company match

    Cons

Micro-management of managers No ability to make your own decisions Very demanding, 24/7 availability, even during vacations Poor insurance options, high priced, high deductible

    Advice to Management

If you are going to tell prospective employees to treat each business unit as if it is theirs then let them do so with support, in lieu of micro-managing and second guessing every decision. Any talented managers you have will not put up with that type of situation for long.
