I worked at NFI Industries full-time

    Pros

There are some really good people working for NFI but.....

    Cons

Packed in like sardines in a can, facilities not adequate for the amount of people working at the Corporate Offices. Too many kids running the show! Technology is horrible and the systems they use are not fast enough for the amount of people using them!

    Advice to Management

Talk to your people and get their honest opinion, not the opinion that you give them!

I worked at NFI Industries full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Lots of work. Hometime every week. Pay was good. Never had any problems with my manager or any other drivers or employees.

    Cons

Saftey and security are a joke. Security allowed a company driver to be verbally threatened and called racial slurs by a non company driver all of this happening at front gate (security booth). This other driver was even allowed to get off of his truck and follow me over to security officer still talking crazy to me and making threats. Never once did security attempt to intervene in any way. So in an attempt to stop him from harassing as well as approaching me I let him see I had a pocket knife never once did I threaten him with it or attempt any bodily harm. But yet I am fired for defending/protecting myself because security didn't do one single thing. If anyone is a safety or security risk its the security guards working at the gate who don't do there job.

    Advice to Management

Open your eyes and see who was really and truly in the wrong.

    Pros

Decent money, most drivers are good. Steady freight. Overall it was a good place to work. No company is perfect.

    Cons

Dispatchers kind of play favorites, don't plan out runs very well at times. It's not all about killing a drivers 14 every single day, let a person get home.

    Advice to Management

Look at the bigger picture when it comes to drivers sometimes. We work long hours, many unpaid. If a driver is in a loaner, don't send them out on overnight runs. That can be nasty and demoralizing. Install power inverters!
