I have been working at NGA HR full-time

    Pros

I love my coworkers and we have a great 401k and PTO plan

    Cons

Raises are few and far between. Being a global company it seems more effort goes to the other countries. A lot of the positions have been off shored.

    Advice to Management

    Concentrate on the US

I have been working at NGA HR full-time

    Pros

Vested in the 401K plan after 2 years of service. Almost 3 weeks of paid time off beginning day one. Management encourages work life balance. I had my M-F schedule compressed due to a part time job. Willing to promote within. Luncheons, pot lucks, birthday recognition, employee of the quarter awards, monthly awards given for performance and attendance. 2 internal extracurricular groups to join, they have a soccer team as well. M-F for most jobs, some Overtime offered throughout the year. Fairly frequent meetings where what is happening globally and locally is shared with the team (town hall meetings).

    Cons

not enough managers to assist where needed. training is great at first, but rarely are there refreshers for training. Agents are held to a standard that can be stressful and hard to maintain. Lots of information to absorb and learn. shift bids can cause one to lose the shift they are on. there are Slow periods so anyone who is constantly on the move or active may find themselves bored; though training and self assessments are encouraged, if it gets too slow you will be asked to voluntarily go home which may not be paid if you have a zero PTO balance. 30 minute lunches are what most agents are on, but some are on a 45 min lunch schedule. Lunch times should be the same across the board, and more than 30 minutes in my opinion. Pay scale is low across the board though they supposedly perform salary surveys to make sure they are paying competitively. Raises in pay are not yearly but once every 2-3 years and it may be a few cents for a cost of living adjustment.

    Advice to Management

Share salary surveys with employees so we can see how we truly compare to other call centers in the area. Give raises more often for longevity. Take a page from Next Jump and make a culture that doesn't fire employees for performance issues, period. That fear can drive some of the people who work here to high levels of stress.

I worked at NGA HR full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Salary was competitive and some personnel have the opportunity to work remotely. There was also schedule flexibility in my position.

    Cons

Was both hired and laid off in under one year. Downsizing plans do not occur in a vacuum. Management is not transparent.

    Advice to Management

Be honest and transparent to employees. And, a little sympathy would go a long way.

    Pros

Used to be a good company. Lots of talented people. Had a good life-work balance.

    Cons

Average salaries. Up management is below average. Most talented people have left the company after the merge, less people doing more work.

    Advice to Management

Need people who knows what he/she is doing turn around the company, and attract talented people back.

I have been working at NGA HR full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Employees that are left are talented. Sadly, the company struggles to keep top talent due to continuous unrealistic demanded cuts in budget and soft pipeline.

    Cons

Unrealistic expectations. Insufficient staffing to produce demanded results. Insufficient staffing and tools to provide services promised by sales and leadership. Desperate behaviors to maintain current clientele. Leadership talks out of the side of their mouths. Reviews are conducted and ratings based on company performance not individual performance. Untrustworthy. Morale is nonexistent. General atmosphere is fear.

    Advice to Management

Stop acting so desperate with your clients. Create a solid statement of work. Treat your employees with respect. Get realistic with resources.

    Pros

Great place to learn what it means to work in a global environment. Get to work with people from all over the world and with customers who operate all over the world.

    Cons

If you are looking for an easy 9-5 job, this isn't a good fit for you. The people who get promoted are the ones who are comfortable with change and comfortable with being challenged
