    Pros

    Good pension scheme. Nothing else.

    Cons

Very badly organised. Often called to see if you can cover shifts that happen to be vacant because you've actually taken them off as annual leave. Overtime pay almost always wrong.

    Pros

The company working culture is very good and rewarding. Flexible working hours with excellent time-off policies. NHS Grampian true to its nature works as a charity and has done great work in field of patient care

    Cons

working in nhs is only good if you are a Manager, doctor or a nurse. IT professionals are not paid in accordance with Market Standards and it has very low scope for professional growth.

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at NHS Grampian full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Secure, comfort, routine and benefit are the right combination for Life-balance, especially to family-person type of employee. Well look after the disadvantage people i.e. people with disabilities. In other words, it's a working place that provide good social welfare.

    Cons

Lack of competitiveness. There is no reward scheme that based on performance because there is no KPI at an individual level. There is no difference in the return on contribution. Not a right place for ambitious person.

    Advice to Management

Improve an efficiency of human resource development in the non-clinical services areas.

I worked at NHS Grampian part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Interesting work, some nice colleagues. Flexible working hours to work around family needs.

    Cons

Far too many people employed who take liberties, use office equipment and time for personal stuff and never seem to get called on it.

    Advice to Management

Pay closer attention to the slackers and do something about them when you realise what they are doing.

  8. "Senior management culture lacking in confidence with non collaborative leadership styles in evidence"

    Negative Outlook

I worked at NHS Grampian full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Salaries are very competitive compared to private sector (even those in local oil industry. Ts & Cs like Annual Leave, Pension scheme, Sickness Allowance very competitive with other non NHS Orgs.

    Cons

Capability and capacity major concerns for some functions led by senior managers including executive team. Talent management a major issue with succession planning not really in place.

    Advice to Management

Collaborative leadership very much a problem -leadership development review required? External resource & influence required to identify key drivers for change -key stakeholders at executive levels (including HR) may not have the understanding &/ or capability to change things
