I have been working at NHS part-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Attractive starting salary. Happy to mould you into what they want. Good pension scheme and there is always work available. If you're happy not to progress, to be dictated to, to not be heard and are not expected to use your brain, this is the job for you.

    Cons

Little room for movement up the ranks unless your a bully and are not afraid to assert your dominance. Frequently understaffed, staff favouritism, bullying, exceedingly hierarchical, unhealthy culture, lack of support, always rushed off your feet, poor training, bad management.

    Advice to Management

Allow the leaders to progress and reflect on your own personal performance as opposed to placing your faults on others. Enable more staff training and support your staff, everyone is important, from the ground up. Consider reduction in management levels and employing more ground staff. Empower those staff that you already have to take on more responsibility, they are keen, willing and able.
