I have been working at NHS Human Services part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Other TSS's, BSC's, and MT's are always willing to help and offer support. TSS's have weekly supervision to talk about their clients to get clinical feedback.

    Cons

There is not a certain pay wage for notes and they take up a lot of time. Some schools and teachers and be unsupportive of the TSS in the classroom.

    Advice to Management

Have more thorough trainings with documentation.

    Pros

They have high standards and help you develop into a better worker. Managers give plenty of helpful feedback and resources to their workers while also listening to the workers and implementing their ideas. If you work for them you will grow as a worker and as a person.

    Cons

They have high standards and expect you to have the same. You work very hard at NHS so don't apply if you want an "easy" job. You work with people constantly and your customers have real problems that need to be addressed. Don't apply if you don't like working with people or solving problems.

    Advice to Management

Keep setting the standards high. People need to be pushed to perform at their highest level not the status quo.

I have been working at NHS Human Services full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Competitive salaries, great benefit package, leadership development and advancement available, numerous support services available, and a high committment to compliance and integrity. The mission of NHS is to provide the highest quality of care to individuals in need. Staff who truly believe in this mission are extremely successful in building their career at NHS. Staff who work in direct care are capable of working their way up to corporate positions, if they have patience, determination, and very good work ethic.

    Cons

Large diverse company makes it difficult to communicate effectively. However, there are other opportunities for employees to obtain information and happenings around NHS by visiting their website or Facebook page.

    Advice to Management

Continue to develop employees by sending them to leadership development and encouraging them to follow the NHS mission and core values.

I worked at NHS Human Services full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

NHS provides a wide variety of services with job opportunities at every level. They provide a comprehensive orientation and continued opportunities for professional growth. There are several lines of service offered by the company expanding the options for your career path. Job satisfaction, great relationships with peers, and strong friendships were just a few of the perks I enjoyed while employed with NHS.

    Cons

As with any human services organization, salaries are partially dependent on funds received. This means highly qualified staff are not always paid what they are worth. For me, the lesser salary was balanced by a nice benefit package and a high level of job satisfaction.

    Advice to Management

Similar positions across the state are not given equal weight by title or salary. This could be balanced. Keep the community ties strong. Keep providing high quality care to those who are in need.

I worked at NHS Human Services part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Self made schedule, choice of hours, trainings, minimum supervision, great job if you like kids, can work independently, have good time management skills, and are able to complete paperwork on time/accurately, the people you work with make this a great company to work for

    Cons

Client cancellations, amount of paperwork, may not receive a large case load immediately, pay for service, no benefits

    Advice to Management

Make paperwork more efficient or reimburse employees for time spent completing paperwork, require same quality of work from all staff, include a benefit option for employees that work a certain number of hours each week
