I worked at NICE as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Teamwork is pushed at every level, more than typical American companies and you can learn and grow from others well this way, and mentor others. This felt good. I would give it a high rating like a 5 if it were not for all the outsourcing and job losses to overseas.

    Cons

All the outsourcing was causing people to not plan for the future as there would not be a future in the US. Adding lots of teams overseas.

Also, lots of overtime all the time, but they compensate for this. Real overtime culture and most items are critical or high, with few low or medium.

    Advice to Management

Value workers in the US and don't outsource everything. It will make a difference in your bottom line.

I have been working at NICE full-time

    Pros

Most of the Professional Services team members work remotely. Services resources are located globally. PMs are given the opportunity to run their projects as entrepreneurs. It is challenging and can be satisfying.

    Cons

While the work load is high and you have a lot of responsibilities, there is very little room for advancement within the organization.

    Advice to Management

While revenue numbers are important, having PMs report the information 2-3 times per week is too time consuming and takes time away from more important project activities. The revenue forecast does not change that much weekly and these meetings are a waste of time.

I have been working at NICE full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Smart, helpful people everywhere.
Systems and tools were setup and run correctly from day 1.
New office environment is fresh and lively.
I've been allowed, and encouraged, to spend a lot of time getting familiar with the product I support before I need to "perform".
Challenging position that stretches the standard definition of the role I was hired for. Unique.
    Positive "can do" attitude prevails.

    Cons

LOTS to learn immediately to become familiar with a robust and complicated product/environment.
Being managed virtually (from Israel) has it's drawbacks.
Training model is/are virtual labs, which are time and resource intensive.
The open floor plan of the office provides little quiet or privacy as there are people always having discussions via phone or WebEx at full volume.
I've will have lost 2 mentors in 60 days due to turnover, creates a challenge for New Hires.
Siloed SMEs are hard to get time with sometimes unless you have some weight to throw around.

    Advice to Management

Having all positions be a SME creates silos...communication between silos can be difficult and create bottlenecks. Formalized partnerships between silos might open a can of worms and accountability, but accountability is usually a good thing for quality...even if it slows things down sometimes.
