I worked at NICE inContact full-time

    Pros

Decent pay, comparable benefits for mid market company, pretty stable

    Cons

Company culture has begun to disappear as the company is absorbed into the merger with Nice. Managers spend a lot of time now dealing with politics and CYA., Many members of upper managerment behave now as though they are afraid for their jobs. The amount of open communication has decreased.

    Advice to Management

Try and find a way to preserve some of what made inContact a fun collaborative open place to work.

    Pros

The people at inContact were very professional and knowledgeable.

    Cons

Long hours. The job was great until I got a new supervisor. Things went quickly downhill from there.

    Pros

The people are great. Your colleagues are willing to put in the effort needed to get things done. Lots of just very good people.

    Cons

There doesn't seem to be any real plans. One day everything is ok. Then the next day there are fires everywhere and know one knows what to do.

    Pros

This is a sales company that writes software to meet its sales, it's NOT a software company that sells its products.
They sell a product/feature then drop it in development's lap to figure out how to do it before the deadline.
Sales gets regular trips to Mexico and Jamaica. Many Incentives for Sales.

    Cons

3+years ago this was the best company to work for! You knew your direction and you knew what was expected of you. Now we are a subsidiary and everyone is holding their breath until their jobs are shipped overseas. Since being acquired part of our jobs have been shipped to India, Bolivia, and Vietnam. Soon it'll only be a sales company with development done everywhere but the US.

    Advice to Management

Paul always SAID we were a software company and then operated as a sales company. If you're serious try showing some love to R&D like you do to the 2nd floor.

I worked at NICE inContact full-time

    Pros

    - The front line contributors at inContact are some of the best people I have worked with. Most of them are personable and very knowledgable in their job. I have built a lot of valuable, long-lasting relationships at inContact.
    - Work environment aside, the overall compensation at inContact is quite good and very competitive in the local market.

    Cons

    - For all the value of the front line people, it is hidden behind mediocre (at best) leadership and upper management. They are not all bad individually, but collectively, they are some of the most ineffective I have seen. For a while, they have had a revolving door in upper management. They seem incapable of setting a direction and aligning to it. In some cases, inContact as a company has seemed to outgrow the abilities of their senior leaders. And others, well they don't have a leadership style that instills trust and passion in their employees.
    - For certain personality types, there are career opportunities. Unfortunately though, those personality types, while they may make good operational leaders, seem to rarely make good leaders. As a result, inContact has lost a lot of talented people with great leadership potential because those people often felt blocked in their ability to move up.
-Shifting priorities and the inability to understand what is most important has damaged morale and crippled progress.

    Advice to Management

    - Reevaluate your criteria for what makes a good strong leader. Otherwise get out of the way and trust your front line leaders.
    - Make a better attempt at understanding who you want to be, or better yet, who you DON'T want to me. Once you figure that out, have some discipline in sticking to it and being consistent.
    - So much potential to succeed; you just need to get everyone on the same page.

Awesome job building company in last 10 year to a Gartner fav; Great business model from a Channel Partner perspective; technology is a 7 on a 1-10; most of the team are fantastic to work with; probably have a 18-24 month run before..................

    Cons

Sr. Management is all about them; short term thinking now; will allow one terrible manager push out good people that worked hard to build..............

I worked at NICE inContact full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

High traffic team based environment that is very self sufficient and reliable with the product that is being supported.

    Cons

Pay is far below market value for jobs in the same field; upper management is off site and we are treated as a sub product to their cloud platform.

    Advice to Management

Add a voice for your Columbus office and keep in line with the standards that are set by Leadership teams.

Great environment, good pay, good benefits, and great outlook for the future of the company

    Cons

Good ol' boys club mentality. Promotions for people who work the political system.

    Advice to Management

Take evaluations of managers more seriously. Leaked information and nepotism is very strong and HR seems to go along with this to protect people.

    Pros

The people in this company are amazing! Almost everyone has a fantastic attitude and a desire to help our customers.

    Cons

There is no mentoring or training program for new managers. Just because someone is a great employee, it doesn't follow that they will be a great manager. Managers need to be developed at least as much as a regular employee.

    Advice to Management

Up the game on management training and mentoring.
