    Pros

They offer generous employee discounts. You get to be around new footwear and apparel.
    Flexible schedules...

    Cons

The work gets tedious. Hard to advance. Hard to survive on paychecks. What does one expect in retail? Benefits and pay can be much better.

    Advice to Management

You can offer good employees better pay and perks.

    Cons

No sence of team, high turnover rate. very low pay, and they doc you if you are 1 minute early. Walk threw with corporate is ridiculous. The company higher associates that know more about the company than the people in corporate. And very late hours

    Advice to Management

please train sales associates appropriately to understand product before selling on the sales floor.

I have been working at NIKE part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

**Growth (only if your enter the company as an assistant manager plus) (or if your primary job is to adulate(brown nose) to as many upper management as you can find)

Fun work staff - with changing schedules and seasonal hires, you can meet a lot of interesting coworkers.

Opportunity to travel - company has many events and actively sends employees to different events***(fully paid)

Casual work environment and dress code

    Cons

No Growth - if you start as an "Athlete" show talent, hard work, dedication and get a degree in the management or marketing field, the company will hire outside personnel for advanced positions.

Management - management will consistently lie to employees about company policies (HR dept. however is very transparent and honest)

Management (*at Garden City) creates an adversarial environment between management and employees and also employees vs employees (competitions via NPS surveys of which there are no rewards towards top employees)

No benefits for Part-time Under employees and very expensive for non-management Full-time and Part-time Over employees.

Management expects unlimited availability from employees for part-time employees.

    Advice to Management

Be transparent and honest with employees.

    Pros

It's a great company to work for. I've always admired the way they have Marketed their products and they will continue to be a top notch complany as long as they keep the innovation of their products a priority. Far too often companies like this get stale in their approach and as a result they begin to lose market share.

    Cons

The hours were fairly long. Don't get me wrong. I love to work as much as the next person, however, at some point and time there has to be a balance between work and the home life. In my new capacity I have that freedom.

    Advice to Management

    Be more objective

    Pros

there are some talented people that work there. 30% off product. and free shoes every 6 months.

    Cons

the coaching policies need a change. if you have a bad egg it takes forever to get ride of them.
no support from district level on fixing store. only when his job was on the line did he act to change things.

    Advice to Management

get involved with the employees to understand them. it is an urban environment. you have to earn respect not just be given it because you have a title.
