    Pros

Great opportunity to network at Nike+ events, as well as external companies using Nike space.

    Cons

At the retail level, extremely poor managerial skills.

    Advice to Management

Create a program for retail athletes to move up and around within the company.

I worked at NIKE full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Good Benefits, decent salary, stability

    Cons

There is no work life balance for upper management. In order to get promoted you must be single w/ no family obligations. All upper management staff who have families either get bi passed for a promotion or are forced to leave. ESPECIALLY AT NIKETOWN NY.

    Advice to Management

Believe in loyalty and intergerity. Don't forget about the people who have been with company formany years, but are not always able to stay out late and attend every company event.

I worked at NIKE part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

People that you meet that are working with you are some of the best. I have made life time connections there for sure. You are in an environment with very passionate people, for the most part and you all have a love of sport in common.

    Cons

Claim to hire from within but starting in retail it is a very selective few that move up. A lot of micromanaging and false hope. I know people who worked there longer than me that never had the opportunity to show their talents and skills in the work place.

    Advice to Management

Be more transparent with internal hiring. Recognize the drive and talent of the people you hire even in the lowest positions, they want to be there for a reason.

can meet great people that enter the store
    provided with staff dress
    good for college student

    Cons

    rude customers (expected in retail)
there are two types of part times, part time under and part time over and part under can't get more than 20 hours a week, and sometimes we aren't even give the full 20 hours.
    big turnover rate
    constantly changing rules
devices used to do transactions always lose connection

I worked at NIKE full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Bragging rights, working at one of the biggest stores in the world has it's advantages. Great discounts on merchandise. I wasn't a sneakerhead before working at Nike but I am now. Bought so many great pairs of shoes. Celebrity sightings were fairly common (at least once a week). People were generally very cool and easy to talk to and the managers were very chill and understood the employees. The store looked amazing at all times, as the visual and marketing departments at Nike know what they're doing.

    Cons

Felt like high school at times. The Niketown I worked at had a real "hood" culture and it's hard to fit in if you don't fit that mold completely. If you're an introvert at heart, this job might not be for you because everyone is so extroverted here and it's easy to feel left out or like a "loser" for wanting some time by yourself after the sensory overload that is working at Nike. On slow days there wasn't enough to do and you aimlessly walked around folding and re-folding clothes to look busy, and the mobile devices you used to process transactions were fairly unreliable and in short supply, which made working on busy days a nightmare sometimes. It was also tough watching customers get frustrated with you because the people in the basement wouldn't send up shoes fast enough, or would send up the wrong pair of shoes.

    Advice to Management

Get the technology the employees have to use in order, you have the money to do so. A lot of customers left unhappy because we weren't able to fulfill certain requests because the printers or mobile devices weren't working.
