Pros
Government benefits, free travel, large office
Cons
This place is extremely ghetto. The chain of command is very gossipy. The manager I reported to was moved into her role now due to fraternizing in another department. Not an employee building environment unless you are kissing up to the person who oversees you. I wouldn’t advise working here at all. The environment is very stressful and you are constantly micromanaged to the point they have asked for people to turn on cameras just to view your “office” it’s a very negative toxic environment. Don’t work here. They report into the office full-time as well and was firing anyone who refused or was incapable of even if that meant hybrid.

- 2.0Feb 27, 2023Omni Bus OperatorFormer Employee, more than 5 yearsPennsville, NJ
Pros
Local run , set schedule for same local route , don’t have to bid on runs or route every 3 months cuz it’s the same line . Seeing the same wonderful customers and building a trustworthy relationship.
Cons
Buses breaking down and not having reliable back up transportation for passengers. Favoritism amongst older drivers that had longer seniority. I was the first African American man to start in 2015 to drive city bus . I feel like if the work environment was a little bit more diverse, it would have help unify the company . To many issues amongst drivers and the public . To many complaints , drivers riding pass individuals for their own person reasons and not serving the community in a professional manner . A lot of stuff gets swept under the rug cuz it’s a private sector of NJTRANSIT , however when you drive a Njtransit bus , you are definitely representing Njtransit in its whole inc. I love seeing all the customers and knowing I can transport them in the most safest way possible, and building trust and respect while having fun and doing my job . I didn’t feel safe , they didn’t have working camera on the bus . Or proper CB radios to effectively communicate.
