I have been working at NJVC full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great Salary, decent benefits, great work-life balance

    Cons

Difficult to advance, negative future outlook, has become a "butts in seats" employer, needs to change customer perceptions.

    Advice to Management

Strategize, BD needs to win contracts, don't discount the talent you already have in-house, challenge employees, don't play favorites, balance the workload, hold individuals accountable for their actions.

I worked at NJVC (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Highest IT Salaries in St Louis Metro, Vast opportunities to learn complex network and data architectures.

    Cons

Horrible middle management dragged down a promising company. Moved mediocre employees into management and left them there to spread misery.

    Pros

Great people, used to have great management.

    Cons

    Started losing many government contracts.
New parent company doesn't know how things used to work (they worked well)
Team members are no longer valued like they used to be.

    Advice to Management

    Care more about team members
Parent company needs to get out of the way

    Pros

    Salary was more than expected

    Cons

Good ol boy network keeps you from moving upward in the company. Only way to get a promotion is to apply for a new job that was already promised to somebody else.

I have been working at NJVC full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Exceptional compensation package and endless opportunities for hard workers.

    Cons

The fact that benefits have drastically diminished as our 15 year contract comes to a close is trumped by the fact that we are now struggling for company viability. Utter failure of Business Development.

    Pros

This company (NJVC) had good benefits, use to have great award fees and cost of living fees. All that stopped after a while.

    Cons

Severance pay was not good, after all the years working for this company, they only give you 2 weeks and that's all. Other companies give you 2 weeks and a week for every year you have worked for them. Appreciation for time served

    Advice to Management

    None

I have been working at NJVC full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Salary was very good in the beginning. Unfortunately, that is also a con. Due to giving unqualified individuals salaries that were ridiculously high, the labor costs are too high and no new work is being won.

    Cons

There are too many to list. NJVC does a horrible job of rewarding talented people who actually perform above and beyond. Instead it's the good old boy network and spot awards and team awards are given to those who are barely doing their jobs. Promotions?? Think again!

    Advice to Management

Clean house ASAP or you will cease to exists. Pantera would have helped with this but there was no implementation of it whatsoever so high school grads with barely enough intelligence to tie their shoes are still making crazy salaries. Wise up or you will no longer be able to compete. Instead of doing a true Pantera, and adjusted salaries, you took away benefits therefore running off your real talent, those with MIS degrees and level 3 certifications.

I have been working at NJVC full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

This job is very good for work/life balance. The salary is good for the area, this company has quite a few beginning positions and many experience positions. There is not a whole lot of middle ground between those 2 spheres. Advancement is very limited internally. If employees want to move up, they will have to invest their own time into certifications or classes. They will pay you if you pass the tests, but will have to owe more time to the company.

    Cons

    -Very little corporate communication.
-Up in the air on where they are with contracts.

    Advice to Management

Reach out to your employees everyone and awhile.

I have been working at NJVC full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I was fortunate enough to work in one of the better business units, which meant working with very knowledgeable people and a free-flowing exchange of ideas and information. Good people, good morale, flexible hours, competitive salary.

    Cons

Current/new employees are paying for the mistakes the company made in the past. In recent years, the company promoted people simply for being on the payroll longer than others, that logic has come back to haunt them. Employees who have worked hard to achieve industry certifications and/or Bachelor's/Master's degrees are barely even recognized let alone promoted. Those that are left behind are hoarding information and stonewalling processes in an effort to keep their jobs.

    Advice to Management

Sadly enough, it's too late to right the ship. We get it, the company needs to make cuts to compete for new business but they're going about it the wrong way. Budget cuts to merit increases, PTO & most importantly training, have forced out the sharpest, most innovative and forward thinking employees by while upper management continues to reward themselves with Spot awards and bonuses. The people that have won so many accolades for the company and made the business profitable are long gone, leaving only the over-inflated salaries of the employees WITHOUT industry certifications or degrees who can't get a job anyplace else. The time to change has passed and management seems content to rest on their laurels and continue to collect a paycheck while the best employees leave in droves.

I have been working at NJVC full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Pay, co workers, benefits are ok.

    Cons

This company does nothing but take perks of being employed with them away. When a corporate letter or email comes down it is always something negative. The HR reps are garbage, they never return your calls or emails. The HR department should have its own HR over them, this company is a good starting point, but is slowly skinking. Contract may be gone come October 2015. Look elsewhere for the meantime.

    Advice to Management

Get with the program, you have employees who are willing to do anything at the drop of a pin. South talent is underutilized with this company, and it is disappointing.
