I have been working at NJVC (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    - Hands-off Management
    - Nice Corporate Workspace
    - Geographically Distributed Work Options

    Cons

    - Clueless company direction
    - Disconnect between corporate staff and work force
    - Finance driven operations without insight towards internal development
    - Poor communication within/throughout the company

    Advice to Management

Fire your executives. Develop your management (and/or fire half of them). Recognize talent within your company.

    Pros

great employees who are very skilled and experienced with their field. very mission focused.

    Cons

friend hire friends and promote and raises are the same way. very unfair process and unethical. yes, they have an ethics committee but its run by the same folks. the fox watches the hen house.

    Advice to Management

truly create an ethic department that reports to the Mother company Chenega. Only chenega should be part of the hiring committee

I worked at NJVC full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Excellent ARM, communication, continued support while at client's site, supported training and certification initiatives, enabled career growth and progression, awarded exceptional employees as well as significant accomplishments that went above and beyond the general job description, customer service oriented which gleaned superior results and feedback from the client

    Cons

    HSA/HRA- poor health benefits,
This site requires a minimum of twenty words in this section. I had a positive experience with NJVC so I have no other cons to list.

    Advice to Management

Increase pay for employees to be more competitive and retain higher quality folks

I have been working at NJVC (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Small company appeal. Employees are treated fairly for the most part. Flexibility is one of its key attributes for sure.

    Cons

Downsizing has been a problem over the past few years and benefits have been cut pretty drastically unfortunately. A definite downside.

    Advice to Management

Do not skimp on quality of service during contract negotiations. Remember you pay for what you get. If you buy cheap service then your customer will receive cheap service.

    Pros

Relationships with the Customer and support of Chenega parent company.

    Cons

    Male supported sexist environment
    Salary disparity
Upper management on site has no backbone and pacifist mentality

    Advice to Management

Address the issues presented to you before someone decides they have had enough and sues the company for negligence, hostile work environment, sexual and racial discrimination as well as the lack of moral and ethical fortitude.

    Pros

NJVC has many IT opportunities and is great place to work. Well trained staff. The benefits are outstanding.

    Cons

Finding the correct skill set to fill the various vacant positions is always a challenge.

    Advice to Management

Streamline the Corporate staff. Look for more innovated ways to attract new business. Get out and meet with the customer more often.

I have been working at NJVC full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Engineer in STL, manage out of DC. Ignore STL, train DC. Execute golden parachutes. Profit.

    Cons

Same as pros. There are no pro cons. It's strictly DC staffing of an STL site with management ignoring workers from their VA office building.

    Advice to Management

Most of you were fired, so my advice is keep a low profile and say you worked AT NGA not FOR NJVC.

I have been working at NJVC (More than a year)

    Pros

DoD contractor with positions nation wide.

    Cons

Benefits deteriorate continuously; every year benefits get worse. Low confidence within workforce including management on future of company and contract wins.

    Advice to Management

Don't treat employees as just a butt in a seat or someone in a billet. Some employees have skills and experience beyond their current position that could give valuable advice and direction for the company's strategy and future wins/performance.
