I have been working at NORDAM full-time

    Pros

The owners make an extra effort to meet with and talk to stakeholders annually multiple times per year through walking the shop floor. They also take time at our one year anniversary to host a lunch with senior leadership allowing some more time with those people we may not have access to through the year. The people make this company great and co-workers in my area work as a strong team even across job functions.

    Cons

    No issues to list here

    I worked at NORDAM full-time

    Pros

Compensation and benefits are all very good.

    Cons

Has a tendency to rule their costs by head count, meaning that individuals often have to do the work of multiple people.

  3. "HR is difficult to deal with and it's hard to feel like part of the big team."

    Pros

They offer competitive pay and have pretty good policies in place to help you grow. It's nice that it's family owned but doesn't really feel like this.

    Cons

Terrible vacation time and no sick days. There's a culture that you need to stay late or you aren't a good employee.

    Advice to Management

Allow more flexibility for work life balance.

I worked at NORDAM full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Decent benefits, some great employees to work with.

    Cons

You are expected to work lots of overtime while your managers and lead enjoy family time. Management and leads seem to run the good employees off. I know several managers who should be terminated.

    Advice to Management

Meredith needs to watch the management and leads better. Management cost the company millions cause of bad leadership.

I worked at NORDAM full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Vacation time, decent benefits, and it's a job…

    Cons

No career growth, no merit, extremely resistant to change, management, leadership, uncertainty of job security, communication, and the good ole boy system

    Advice to Management

Ownership/family need to be more involved with the day-to-day life on the shop floor! There also needs to be follow through with what is being conveyed from middle-management to mechanics. There also needs to be a hard look at the middle level management to make sure that they are actually being beneficial to the company. HR needs to realize that their employees are assets to the company; not just a number. This used to be an excellent place to work!!! But now it is lackluster.
