I worked at NPD as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

The company has a very laid back culture which included casual dress and a summer hours program. Additionally, the pay was above average for an internship.

    Cons

The biggest negative was that the company seemed overstaffed. There were not enough cubicles for all of the new hires.

    Advice to Management

Invest in newer and better technology because a company that relies as heavily on technology as this one does not really have an excuse to use such slow and outdated technology.

    Pros

Great perks, ability to work from home, sometimes on a regular basis. Great people who work there, decent salary.

    Cons

Work can become mundane, it takes forever to make changes, room for advancement may be limited. Layoffs seem to happen frequently.

I worked at NPD full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Trustworthy Company values employees, internal candidates come first, lot's of room to grow and it is encouraged by Senior Staff.

    Cons

Too many long term employees afraid of change. It becomes necessary to clean house to keep things fresh.

    Advice to Management

One of the TOP places I ever worked, thank you for the opportunity.

I have been working at NPD as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

The company has a great culture. Everyone is extremely friendly and helpful, which is especially nice if you have relocated. People go out of their way to help you, and to make sure you understand something fully. Great place to work.

    Cons

The salary for an intern is pretty good, but they do not offer any housing stipends or additional benefits. They also do not help much with locating a good place to live, which can be difficult in NY.However, I have heard they have good relocation packages for employees. Furthermore, the salaries tend to be lower, which is unfortunate, because I feel they loose a lot of good talent because of that.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing. Everyone has an open door policy, and are more than willing to spend one on one time with employees, no matter where you are on the hierarchy.

I worked at NPD as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great company who cares about nurturing it's intern and focusing on development and growth. Plenty of opportunities to use your abilities to impress management and satisfy clients. Overall, wonderful experience and best internship I've ever had!

    Cons

Location of the headquarters is very deep in long island. Not bad if you don't mind the commute.

    Advice to Management

Great internship program! I loved my summer with NPD; however, HR needs to be more structured when it comes to hiring interns. We are a highly prized commodity in the job market and it is unfair to us to be in the dark as far as the progress of our employment for so long.
