I worked at NPD full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I worked the help desk for a little while and while it is frustrating having to deal with computer illiterate people the overall atmosphere of the place was nice.

    Cons

Office politics are real, I remember getting chewed out by one of the heads of a department for calling the wrong person once.

    Advice to Management

    Chill.

    Pros

in my role flexibility, good colleagues and peers, benefits are good. there isnt much more i can but i need to write a 20 word minimum

    Cons

constantly fire fighting, layoffs in US offices continually, training is negligible, expectation to do whatever necessary to get results so that work at nights, weekend and during the weekend is standard, constantly changing corporate goals and trying new org models that dont really work out

    Advice to Management

invest in people and not try to change the organisation constantly just to get a better bottom line at any cost

I worked at NPD full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good work-life balance if you have the right manager the toxic environment can be a tolerable experience. If the pressure from upper management trickles down to you, you're SOL.

    Cons

    Non-competitive salaries.
Poor communication of why people are constantly spontaneously being laid-off.
    No promotional opportunities.

This company used to be very family oriented with laughs and smiling workers in the hallways. Ever since they have made a push for rapid growth, that has all ended. Company direction has grown vague, benefits have decreased, raises have decreased, bonuses have decreased, job security is a mystery....all while workload has increased.

If you are considering this company and have an interview, I challenge you to ask what the turnover rate is. That in itself speaks volumes to how poorly this company is being run.

    Advice to Management

Company growth at the expense of employee satisfaction will and is continuing to have workers leave

I worked at NPD full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

NPD has a good reputation in the retail industry due to long-standing relationships with both manufacturers and retail channels.

    Cons

NPD is very siloed by the different industries (i.e., consumer technology, food service, toys, etc.); people rarely interact with anyone in other departments even though they may sit next to each other. It's not a very cordial work environment.

    Advice to Management

Encourage employees to interact even if their jobs don't require it. Say hello or good morning!
