I have been working at NTN Buzztime full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Possible you could gain a couple of true friendships there and get all the knowledge you can so when you finally decide to leave you will be able to put on your resume what you learned and get the good job and the good pay you deserved.

    Cons

Like my title said your job duties will exceed your pay, a lot of people can agree with me on this one. I was able to do 4 roles and so underpaid! When you start talking to your peers and learn that they got a raise or a promotion and your doing more work than them is pretty discouraging. I honestly believe the manager their is prejudice against women of color, and please don’t have a family. You will feel so frowned upon! The only people that got a promotion or raise was a Caucasian, male, or they had no kids.
One thing to remember as your employee rights is when they try to put more duties on you than what your were hired for, you have every right to say no. Always remember your rights when it comes to the California equal pay act which prohibits an employer from paying any of its employees wage rates that are less than what it pays employees of the opposite sex, or of another race, or of another ethnicity for substantially similar work, when viewed as a composite of skill, effort, and responsibility, and performed under similar working condition.

    Advice to Management

Don’t discriminate when it comes to giving people the pay they deserve. Don’t abuse your rights just because you can give an employee more job duties doesn’t mean you should, morally treat people how you want to be treated. Pay your employees what their worth.

I have been working at NTN Buzztime full-time

    Pros

Great people. Smart people. Ambitious people.

    Cons

Arrogance. Denial. Poor hardware quality. Low inventory. Low sales.

    Advice to Management

More honesty with employees and customers. We can take it. In fact we prefer it! Start over with the hardware. Hold hardware as responsible for poor quality as you do other sections of the business for poor performance.

I have been working at NTN Buzztime full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Fun environment and good people, the thought is there and the idea of a “30 year startup” sounds great, but the reality is it is the same story year over year. Nothing changes and the status quo is not good.

    Cons

Bad leadership. The CFO is basically checked out all year and when he isn’t checked out he is checking his watch in meetings and ignoring his team. The CEO is smart, but it’s almost like he is afraid to change the way he wants. The hardware has tons of issues and the product itself isn’t getting any better. The morale is low and all good employees are leaving while senior leadership still keeps some 30 year veterans that don’t know what they are doing.

    Advice to Management

Practice what your preach and stop making empty promises. Practice good ethics and stop lying to customers and employees.

I worked at NTN Buzztime full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They used to have company bbq's, game day on Fridays, and there was a relaxed vibe in the office. Casual attire, veteran employees were very kind.

    Cons

Leadership was a hot mess while I worked there. The C-Suite staff were working to get the company in line, but the COO and the Sales & Marketing upper management were either incompetent or just in over their heads. Almost nobody had received a raise in years even just to keep up with inflation. They hired most upper management from outside the company, passing over those who had worked in the company.

    Advice to Management

Decide whether you're a family-friendly company or a tech company. Trust employees and actually follow through after the employee 360 review process. Follow your own set of corporate values.

I have been working at NTN Buzztime full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Smart people who challenge you constructively, fun products to work on, lots of opportunities to get noticed, great health care plan, lots of focus on core values.

    Cons

There aren't a lot of lunch options within walking distance, and some parking lot trees drip sap on cars along the outer row.

    Advice to Management

Keep hiring great people, stay focused on the big picture and don't get distracted by short term opportunities.

    Cons

Managers who throw their team under the bus to save themselves. Promising technology that could not be delivered on. Made me look bad in from of well established clients

    Advice to Management

teach people how to sell the product, not fire them for not having the right skills to get job done
