    Pros

NVIDIA is a well-run, aggressive and focused company. Jen-Hsun personally sets a tempo and culture that permeates the organization and make it a great place to work. NVIDIA is not a political company, and its great to work in an environment where everyone is pulling in the same well-defined direction. NVIDIA recruits and retains some incredibly smart people, making it a place where it is a delight to work as part of a very able team.

    Cons

The hours can be long - you are expected to be available to answer the flood of emails 24/7; but that is part of being an aggressive organization, and provided you are able to manage the balance between work and life, which not all can, it is a rewarding environment to be part of and worth the effort.

    Advice to Management

Keep pushing hard on us, that is ultimately why we like working here.

    Pros

Nvidia offers the opportunity to work with exceptionally intelligent and driven people while building amazing products. Opportunities for both technical growth and career advancement abound. Management works hard to retain their best engineers.

    Cons

Like many technical companies, Nvidia often runs its projects on unrealistically aggressive schedules (leading to unreasonable demands on its employees.)

On the issue of compensation, certain benefits are unfortunately lacking. For example, Nvidia offers no 401(k) matching.

    Advice to Management

While Nvidia's core business units are amazingly strong, the management of certain "growth" units is unfortunately reactionary.

Great job, keep it up. Amazing place which is positive versus the negativity I've seen at other companies.

    Pros

Good name. Got to be part of the team to build the world's most fantastic chip. High compensation compared to outside market.

    Cons

Depending on department, workload can be impulsive. Some teams can have very long work hours over a long period of time. Some team has limited professional growth.

    Advice to Management

Look for innovative ways to compete with AMD. Increase capabilities of VLSI, custom design, and physical design teams. Incorporate better power management on-chip.

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

indigious CEO that wants to work towards a great company. This will potentially result in a big difference as companies like ATI, AMD are mere trying to sell themselves.

    Cons

pay raise is slow, below inflation and can't keep market rate. no more meaningful options. RSU is an insult in nvidia. Getting 100$/ quarter? Why even bother sending RSU

    Advice to Management

provide hope to engineers in means of option, provide raise that at compensate for both growth in experience and inflation.

    Pros

Very progressive company, keep pushing the frontline of this industry. Come up with new awesome products each year. I worked in Mobile department. The working hour was flexible and you can WAH however most people there work overtime.

    Cons

Project managers most of the time have no idea about the workload you have. That makes job assignment uneven across the team.
