    Great Company

Feb 24, 2021 - General Auditor III in Portland, OR

    Pros

This is a great company to work for. They treat their employees with respect and honesty. It is a large company with a small company feel, and management is very accessible.

    Cons

A bit behind when it comes to technology and speed of innovation, but seems to be getting better. Another con would be the individual growth opportunities available. Many people stay in their positions for multiple years, so opportunities to advance can be few and far between.

    Running on Fumes

    Pros

The company still has some heart left. The people are great, most employees want to be collaborative and get the job done. Of course there are those that are difficult, but on the whole the people are amazing.

    Cons

The company as a whole doesn't know how to resource effectively. While, this isn't unusual for a utility it has gotten steadily worse. Executive Leadership has a corporate elite attitude. Communication both intra and interdepartmental is lacking. Most work groups are so busy they don't have time to communicate changes. Micromanagement is a common practice through out. Turnover seems much higher than usual, with new people expressing frustration with the lack of inclusion in decision making. Most only staying long enough to ensure their benefit packages. The leadership know this, but have done little to correct theses issues.

    Nice people, frustrating work

    Pros

Good pay, people are generally nice, job security, good work-life balance in some jobs.

    Cons

Out of date technology and processes, blame culture, old school hierarchy, slow moving, in corporate office there is a general lack of competence, sharp divide between lifers and people that come in with modern skills and ideas.
