I have been working at NWN Corporation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Very relaxed environment, extremely helpful coworkers. Decent pay for those who are just starting in the IT field.

    Cons

Often new projects are thrown into the mix without any real thought put behind it. The training is sometimes great and at other times nonexistent. Not a lot of opportunity for advancement.

    Advice to Management

Quit changing for the sake of change. It is hard to meet all of our goals when we are continually being shifted around and expected to take on new roles and drop ones we are just getting comfortable with.

Highly talented individuals that work well as a team. Strategies are outlined and all team members work to go above and beyond the customer's expectations.

    Cons

None. One may perceive change as a con - however, technology is constantly changing.

    Advice to Management

    Continue to hire great employees!

I worked at NWN Corporation (Less than a year)

    Pros

Ok place to start out at.

    Cons

They sure like having you do odd jobs nobody else wants to do, even if it wasn't near what you were hired for... but that was fine as I needed the job.

    Advice to Management

When I gave my two weeks notice why was I then told to rewrite my resignation as I was leaving the next day? Was that to not pay me for the two weeks?

I have been working at NWN Corporation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They are busy on some very big deals. They have a great cloud product with hosted voice.

    Cons

They are busy and very understaffed and like running that way. Get what you want to be paid up front raises don't happen very offend. They like to play word games on what they will give you, examples very likely, most of the time, ... and then it never come to the doing part. They have made big changes in their Host Voice so a big unknown around if it will stay a great product.

    Advice to Management

Grow up! your to big to be playing the mom and pop cheap skate game with your employees

    Cons

Not much I can think of.

    Pros

NWN offers a varied range of IT experience, great for those who are starting their careers since you will be exposed to different aspects of IT. NWN has a relaxed vibe, but can change if you're based out of their customer's office.

    Cons

    - Non-competitive salaries
    - Lackluster benefits package
    - If you're not based in the main offices (MA and NC), progressing to senior positions will be difficult
    - No defined career progression
    - I definitely felt that my skills were being under utilized
    - Felt disorganized, no defined training or selection process. It seems that they threw as much people at a problem as possible instead of assigning the correct person to solve an issue.

    Advice to Management

In order to retain talent you need to be able to offer compensation packages that rivals the competition otherwise you will see great people leave your organization.

I worked at NWN Corporation full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There was no benefit, completely low level skilled people

    Cons

Worked as system consultant starting 11/2016. Lasted 6 weeks. Zero communication between account teams and engineers. Account execs are aloof, unprofessional, and have no business acumen sales skills. Everyone I talked to - from support, engineering, account team - said disorganization is typical. Low pay in Boston (165k). Left 1/1/2017 because I did nothing. Low skilled employees with no communication skills. Don't waste your time.

I worked at NWN Corporation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Broad range go products to sell.

    Cons

Unable to compete with better IT companies. Poor relationship with Cisco in some markets. Understaffed. Horrible systems and processes. You will not want to subject your existing clients to NWN's level of service.

    Advice to Management

Stop launching products you can't support. Put more effort into remote regions' support. Instill a higher level of professionalism in regional management. Stop the fake 5 star reviews on Glassdoor.

    Pros

I've worked at NWN for a couple of years and am incredibly impressed with the business they do and how it's done. I am mainly in the professional services org, but see the managed services, cloud/hosted, and workforce aug businesses. All are growing fast and well-managed. Great team atmosphere. It has been really refreshing coming from non-IT companies that are very stagnant and relatively small in mind share.

    Cons

Things change a lot. NWN has had a pretty big surge of growth and have done a number of things to try to evolve the organization. Add to that anticipating the next big evolution of the market, this has resulted in a lot of internal disruption. It has all largely worked well, but this is the biggest knock I can give. Growing pains.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work!
