    Excellent work environment. There is a lot of people that have been working here for along time and they are close to retirement. Hope this company continue to do business here in the US.

    Pros

    Their corporate culture was not very different from pre-merger Freescale

    Cons

    They sold our business unit for parts only 6 months after merger.

    Advice to Management

    Don't kill the goose that lays golden eggs.

    I worked at NXP Semiconductors full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    People and work environment are great. The work/life balance is good. Salary was good.

    Cons

    Despite executing on everything given by upper management, engineers get laid off due to "poor market" i.e., upper management did a bad job guiding the company and engineers take the fall.

    Choose a better direction to invest your resources.

    Pros

    carryover engineering staff from Freescale is still great, talented and interesting work

    Cons

    NXP mindset is seeping in and will eventually dominate, fear that quality of products will slip

    I have been working at NXP Semiconductors (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    - solid base salary
    - good engineers
    - PTO is above industry level

    Cons

    - No recognition from management level, management only cares about themselves instead of caring about their employees.
    - Certain senior colleagues constantly looking for scapegoat to blame instead of working together to solve the issue as a team. Heavy office politics.
    - Bad morale, heavy workload (expect to work on weekends and at night most of the time) annual bonus is a joke. Young employees have no room to grow.
    - a new round of layoff is coming soon.

    Advice to Management

    Don't let the bad apple ruin the whole team.
    Care about your employees and don't throw them under the bus.
