I have been working at NXP Semiconductors full-time

    Pros

Excellent benefits package, great bonus programs, stock refreshers, small employee portion for medical benefits, gym/health sports reimbursement program, lots of travel for many, work from home environment, friendly co-workers and management, a lot of very smart people with exceptional backgrounds. Many promotions and internal rewards and recognition.

    Cons

the unknown of Qualcomm merger, but all remain positive. Many of us understand the semiconductor industry, and know these things happen.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the great work... we look forward to 2017!

    Pros

Good company with promising products development vigorous sales and marketing, effective R&D

    Cons

Will be acquired by Qualcomm. It's a good strategic planning though. The merger will be beneficial to both, except the citing on labor force.

    Advice to Management

    Good job tough road

I worked at NXP Semiconductors (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, great people, some very cool IP

    Cons

Top management has set a course to be #1. Great for equity partners and shareholders, but employees face constant oscillations in communications: from kudos to bullying to gossip to wide swings in focus with little explanation. Recent merger resulted in massive RIFs and left remaining employees doubling up an already doubled workload.

    Advice to Management

Achieving your dream of market leadership requires an engaged, passionate workforce. Treat your employees with more respect, like they are your most valuable asset. They are.

I have been working at NXP Semiconductors full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Providing customers innovative solutions for leading edge applications in automotive technology, communications including NFC, and low power high performance microprocessors.

    Cons

Recent merger with former Freescale Semiconductors requires internal alignment and potential reduction in workforce. Divisions not in line with aggressive corporate goals are quickly sold off.

    Advice to Management

Support existing customers to maintain and grow the less glamorous business lines that are the back bone of the company.
