    Technology took over. Humans are no longer needed.

    I loved working for Corpedia. It was a pleasure to work alongside talented and dedicated people.

    Cons

    The position was stressful. The company was small and tight to begin with but grew over time.

    Advice to Management

    I don't know what happened post NYSE acquisition, but a number of good employees left.

    Leading edge deployment and implementation of technologies and practices - experts in high availability and low latency networks and tradeing

    Cons

    Political, old boys network - many many years of downsizing which took a huge toll on moral and performance. Many mergers over the years diluted the initial team

    Advice to Management

    The management and ownership has completly changed since I was there so I can not accurately comment on what does or doesn't need to be done

    Modest Salary and Benefits, Prominent history in US capital markets, Sentimental favorite

    Cons

    Volumes are down from 90% mkt shares (early 2000s) are down to 20%, little innovation and industry leadership, future is uncertain at best

    Pros

    Great executive management who really drive change
    Great people across the board
    Equity awards
    Good mix of technologies

    Cons

    Highly regulated so a lot compliance focus
    Most of the IT jobs are moving to Atlanta after the ICE takeover
    Equity locks you in after a few years
    Lack of investment in staff, no special clubs, rotational programs, mentorships, sponsorships or even a staff training/tuition reimbursement program

    Advice to Management

    Invest more in your staff , it may cost more in the short run but will gain you much more in the long run in terms of employee retention.

    Too much red-tape involved in getting everyday tasks done
    Still a little old school

    Figure out the balance between company culture and bureaucratic inter-office policies
