    Pros

Like I have said everything has changed since the company was sold.

    Pros

At times, it is a very collegial work environment.

    Cons

Too many layers of management. Lack of incentive structure for employees to make improvements and help grow the business. Employees operate under a survival mentality - keeping to themselves and anticipating that is is only a matter of time before they are fired.

    Advice to Management

Eliminate the multiple layers of bureaucracy. Focus on attracting young talent and creating a better incentive structure

I worked at NYSE (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It was a good place to work until the company got taken over. New Management did not honor the previous traditions.

    Cons

Management was not able to find the fine balance between the old culture vs the new culture.

    Advice to Management

Consider retaining staff with institutional and industry knowledge.

I have been working at NYSE full-time

    Pros

The people in the trenches are the only positive thing about NYSE Governance Services. They are hard working, committed to the customer, willing to put in the extra time and go the extra mile.

    Cons

People tapped to lead this organization are uninformed, out of touch and inept. They completely lack vision. Their communication skills are atrocious and their interpersonal skills are non-existent. They believe that speaking in tag lines and catchy phrases can take the place of substance, industry knowledge and strategic vision.

    Advice to Management

Consider listening to someone --anyone-- with any knowledge about the business you are in and what it takes to compete in your market. Stop surrounding yourself with egomaniacal, self promoting blowhards. It's okay to admit you don't know anything about the business you've been asked to run, and find people who are TRULY knowledgeable to be your advisors and leadership team before it's too late.

The management that cared about the employees and charities is no longer with the company.

    Pros

Good atmosphere with some really good people to work with. Good benefits provided when you start. Overall nice office environment.

    Cons

The people who were there with seniority seemed to be clique-ish. It seemed like there was no room for professional growth. For a small company it seemed big, not a lot of interaction between departments.

    Advice to Management

Work on team building and get senior management more involved with all employees. This place could have been awesome if the atmosphere was better.
