Pros
Good benefits. Union protection (set work hours, guaranteed hour lunch break, cannot be forced to work overtime).
Cons
Pay would be great in most other cities. NYU staff and administrator salaries are generally not very high considering the cost of living in the area. Staff and admin salaries don't grow much year-to-year (2.5-3% annual increases).
