I have been working at NYU (New York University) full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

lots of room for movement internally in different departments, tuition remission

    Cons

your specific team can very much affect your experience - it's a very big institution (largest private employer in city of NY) with a lot of dispersed teams and departments. Lots of opportunities, but you have to seek them and look after yourself.

    Advice to Management

Look after your staff, keep them happy and engaged.

I worked at NYU (New York University) full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great employees, great students, and great benefits. Being an essential employee, you get overtime when your department remains open during major university closures.

    Cons

Figuring out the taxes on tuition remission is quite confusing with not much help from AskPeoplelink.

    Advice to Management

When it comes to shift-based work, be upfront with interviewees about the schedule and what department you'd end up in. It's ridiculous that the Student Health Center expected front desk staff to constantly train in other departments to the point where some employees would have to cover multiple departments throughout the day. Hire extra temp staff during busy times to only cover the phones.
