I worked at NYU Winthrop Hospital (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Good exposure to work industry.
People in my office seemed to really care about what they were doing.
Was able to learn a lot about the department and what they do daily.
    pretty relaxed with breaks

    Cons

Internship was unpaid and I performed a lot of grunt work for someone who wasn't being paid.
There was some open office tension between employees and how they thought management should be doing things.

    Advice to Management

    none.

    Pros

Free Parking, parking everywhere if you come early and look

    Cons

Racism is prevalent in the nursing department, Seen many people of color either quit or get fired simply for speaking up. If you want to keep your license and file clear do not work here. They’ve jammed up a lot of people with their nonsense. A union is needed in Winthrop so the discrimination does not continue. To many people suffering in silence and afraid to speak up.

    Advice to Management

Recognize and respect different cultures. Give fair advancement to anyone of any race.
