    Pros

Good salary, Friendly people, Free gym

    Cons

SDLC is only on paper - most projects don't have defined scope. Business requests are always pushed down/rejected without reason. IT turnaround on simple requests is much very long. Very poor infrastructure and old apps. Most business is run on excel.

    Advice to Management

    Improve network. Replace old system.

    Pros

Opportunity. Company has plenty of home-grown applications that allow for quick changes.

    Cons

Management allowed to curse, degrade employees. Questionable hiring methods (unqualified friends before competence/experience).

    Advice to Management

Consider long term effects. Look at turnover rate. Statistics tell all.

    Pros

There are some people with good intentions

First floor renovations in the corporate location (gym, cafeteria, lobby), a few years to late but still nice to have on campus

    Cons

Senior Management tends to stifle those with good intentions, ideas, and innovation. The company could be on a much higher level if management would let people do the jobs they were hired for and not constantly put up roadblocks. There are a lot of employees who love their jobs but are frustrated with management not recognizing they are hindering the success of the company and it's employees.

Corporate location is in Greenspoint aka Gunspoint, horrible location from a safety standpoint. There is not much in the area if you want to get out of the office to get a break from the workday.

The lack of communication is unacceptable, right hand does not know what the left hand is doing on all levels of he company. The major contributor to this is infighting in the senior management team. Poor communication creates chaos on a daily basis, another pain point that leaves employees highly frustrated.

There was talk of accountability and then it died...core value campaign just buried and gone. RIP

    Advice to Management

Recognize your weaknesses and get out of your own way, let the vast amount of talent you have working for you do what they do best and include them in the decision making process.

Communication is not rocket science, we have several platforms available for internal communication. There is Outlook, Yammer, Jabber, SharePoint, and last but not least the phone. You must do better.

    Pros

Pay is decent. There are pockets of good people with good ideas

    Cons

Top down management style has created an environment that stifles initiative and closes people to sharing information. Since people are afraid to speak out, the right information doesn't get up to management, and management makes decision without understanding the facts.

    Advice to Management

Stick to high level strategy and trust people to take care of the details. Listen.

    Pros

Direct colleagues are a pleasure to work with, love my teammates and that's it. Glad to have a job, but there is not motivation to being there long-term. Company politics is ridiculous!!!

    Cons

Managers are self-centered; CEO does not relate with employees; no recognition of service until at least 5 years which makes you feel under-appreciated; employees in general are cold today and hot the next (can't trust anyone really...).

    Advice to Management

Be flexible, Loosen up, have a work-life balance, appreciate and encourage your employees.

    Pros

    Fair pay and good schedule

    Cons

No notice before being sent to another city for training, no sense of teamwork, clique system on rigs, no advancement opportunites, laid off at a moment's notice, unaffordable benefits.

Nabors used to be a great company to work for, but has quickly gone downhill. It doesn't seem to be remotely recovering from the crisis at all. Many feel the company is going under.
