I worked at Nabors Industries full-time

    Pros

The operations folks are regular oilfield people we've come up with. The pay is reasonable for whats out here. Not many differences in working from district to district

    Cons

Anytime you have to deal with the IT group be prepared for frustration. They had/have a handful of people that actually cared about what we did in the field and even those people would be frustrated because they couldnt get projects pushed through. When I left it was ridiculous. Years ago the group was primarily american who would tell you they wished they would be allowed to go to the field and learn what we do. Now its Indians who've never been to the field but pretend to know what you're talking about.

    Advice to Management

Purge that IT group from the top down two layers and stop importing workers. Make field experience mandatory for anyone in operations management. They should have been at least a rig manager before becoming a district manager. Ridiculous.

I worked at Nabors Industries full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Insurance and a steady paycheck

    Cons

The I.T. department doesn't recognize outstanding performers only recognizes those who do just enough to get by. Over worked and under paid.

    Advice to Management

Get it together! The turn over in the place is ridiculous, employees that don't know how to do their job or skim by are kept and the employees that give their all 24/7-365 are canned. Solutions to problems are brought up to managers and the input is not even taken into consideration, therefore, nothing will ever change. It's an un-organized mess. Pay attention, value and keep the hardworking employees you still have left, those kind of people are hard to come by...as far as the ones who got let go...it's Nabors loss and another companies gain.
