RecommendsPositive OutlookApproves of CEOI have been working at Nabors Industries full-time for more than 5 years
Pros
Good team culture in the software engg. team. Every idea brought to the table is heard and you are given freedom to contribute and all the seniors listen with open mind. Good compensation (above average) compared to market. I check the market every year. No micro management in software engg. Some flexibility in work hours. Training is now added to your yearly goals and career paths are being defined as well. Above all good work life balance, leaders care about you and your family. Layoffs are rare, I hate to disagree with one of the other ex -short time employee here. It was a very small layoff considering the size of the company and the only one in 15 years in software team.
Cons
OK insurance, could do better. Change takes time and lot of influence by parent company that affects decisions and limits managers at Canrig.

Pros
Steady pay check. The roof quit leaking.
Cons
Management is clueless. The top dogs running Canrig are driving it in the dirt. The safety culture is gone there is no career path and on one who know how to run the place. Top management hates the QC group there is no true leadership within the group. Date management is a joke and dictated by when the revenue is needed and not when the product is ready. Too many prototype equipment that is sold before it is proven. Then rushed to manufacturing before it is proven as a dependable product.

Pros
Location was important and only reason I considered this company. Bad decision should have kept driving over an hour at my old job.
Cons
Leadership at both Nabors and Canrig need to be replace with those who know how to lead and inspire a workforce. Poor decision making by leaders is a direct reflection on stock price being <3 Bucks. Company performance and employee moral are both so poor I am completely surprised they can recruit any talent to be a successful company. Clear out both leadership teams and start a new. No way the culture or moral could be any worse.

Pros
Always something to do. If you like daily challenges to keep up with Management changes this is off you.
Cons
Upper Management poor business decisions. Treats sister Company Canrig like an evil step mother. The Canrig team has been completely dismantled.

Enjoyed my time at Canrig mostly because of the people. Very friendly and always willing to help. Pay was good.
Cons
Only had issues with one director who was unkind, often times unprofessional, and made a lot of the other interns uncomfortable.

Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookI worked at Nabors Industries full-time for more than 10 years
Pros
Great engineers and shop people.
Cons
The management style goes far beyond political correctness, to the point of self-destruction. Senior leaders are so focuses on self-aggrandizing behavior at the expense of the future of Canrig and its parent company, Nabors. An insane amount of energy and money is wasted recruiting talented people who are then ran-off because they believed that the company wants to be better, and then are punished for laboring to improve Canrig.

Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookNo opinion of CEOI worked at Nabors Industries for less than a year
Pros
Canrig has an interesting product line.
Cons
In the eight years I worked for Canrig, they had never once kept a promise made to it's non Houston based employees.

Pros
If you enjoy Cro Magnon Management, this is the place for you... but not the passion and action based man... more "Russian Roulette with an Automatic." As a division of Nabors, Canrig has a captive customer. Senior Management are administrators, not leaders. They require countless reports and forms... KPI's often focus on volume of reports, not how to add value to the customer"s".
Cons
Canrig is in a downward spiral. Sr. Management is more interested in justifying their role than adding value to the customer. They often sabotage the customer to show their value.

Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookDisapproves of CEOI have been working at Nabors Industries full-time for more than 3 years
Pros
There are a lot of creative people here, but that doesn't matter. Every Engineer has 4 or more managers laboring to micromanage and keep you in your swim lane. But boy those managers can spin the conversation. There was even talk two years ago about needing to change the employee reviews online, and Glassdoor was mentioned. Despite vague, but very positive reviews, most of the negatives on Glass door is correct.
Cons
The engineering management is not honest to Nabors about issues and solutions. They are more eager in showing their importance than solving problems. Senior management continues to be focused on proving their impulse decisions are correct. Our parent company has transferred all the money making products to them, and are giving Sr. Managers fancier titles. Newly made titles of CEO and COO suggests that Nabors will spin-off Canrig like C&J was a few years ago. An experienced guy said it would allow Nabors to book a sale - making them look a little better.

"Once a Great Engineering Company"

- Senior Management★★★★★
Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookApproves of CEOI worked at Nabors Industries full-time for more than 10 years
Pros
Canrig is a solid company for manufacturing, service, and support. The employees are dedicated and they have a global footprint. There are plenty of opportunities and the company lives by its culture and values.
Cons
Canrig was once a great company for engineering services, but all of those have been moved into Nabors corporate. The company has been turned upside down by a restructuring and leaves many scratching their heads. All of Nabors, including Canrig, is plagued with poor revenue prospects. The Senior management is in flux so it would be hard to know what will happen there.
