I worked at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

You meet all kind of people everyday is a different day it has experience that you wouldn't think a smaller hospital would have

    Cons

There is a lot of backstabbing that goes on. Some of them will cover up stuff if they like the employee if it they know it's wrong

    Advice to Management

Pay closer attention to why your good employees don't stay

    Pros

They have good doctors and many employees that give good patient care.

    Cons

The services offered are decreasing. The hospital is having difficulty managing their finances with decreased volumes and medicare reimbursements. They take benefits away from employees or freeze salaries and raise the insurance premiums to balance the budget. They are not affiliated with any other hospital system. Have a very small network.

    Advice to Management

Place more value on the employees. Make them feel like part of a team. Make sure they are educated and informed about these changing times. Give them value by making your salaries and benefits competitive with the area.
